    Checking things out --lots of good information here.

    My rifle of choice right now is a Savage 110/BA LE 300 wm topped with Vortex Razor HD Gen II 4.5-27x56.

    I am learning precision reloading for it using RCBS products --right now we've narrowed it down to 72.5 gr with Sierra bullets. Currently building a semi-portable reloading station by converting a B&D Workmate 425 bench.

    Looking to amp up the M1 Garand (30.06) with a Shepard DRS 6-24×50 S series scope. Will the M1 make 1000? Hmmm .. we shall see.

    Where abouts in LA and where are you shooting at? I used to hit up Los Angeles , but got tired of public ranges and the traffic sucked getting there

    I work mostly from home --so traffic is not as sucky because I can mostly travel non peak hours for whatever I need. I mostly go to Angeles Range on Tuesdays (cheaper) because we can get out to 600 yards. Looking to hit the BLM land / Hodge Road shooting area when I'm good enough to take it to 1000 but that's quite a hike and for all the meth addicts / transients not something I'd do alone.

    Hodge road ia tough yo get 1000 yards, you need to exit Yermo, go left, then Right on Burro Canyon Road. We shoot out past a mile there . Worth the trek, but lately there have been a lot of people out there. Hikers, bikers, jeeps, cell phone tower guys, other shooters that leave TV's and crap!

    I think at Hodge you get 300 yards out only...

    Burro Canyon is the same exit as Calico Ghost

    A friend of mine does the Hodge rd. If memory serves me correctly --the area he goes he gets 1000. He does with a whole camera set up etc. Maybe it's a different area of Hodge Rd? He did say that he can't leave his steel out there b/c even when he buries it the meth heads find it and sell it for scrap. Ha... the little dirtballs.

    I've been to Burro but their main rifle section only goes to 300.... unless it sounds like you know another area of Burro --'Calico Ghost'? If you can tell me how to get to the Calico place I'd love to check it out. I was out to Burro range last Sunday to do a Photo shoot. The beauty this time of year with everything being so green is stunning.

    Sorry, Mule canyon road. Burro sucks! We have a few places we're leave steel at, but you need a helicopter to get there... no meth heads to deal with
