LOS or AMR?

If you are putting the data in your Kestrel and want to get the most accurate solution back in terms of wind holds etc, LOS is what you need to feed the Kestrel. That also means you have to give it the angle of your shot manually as well. It needs LOS and angle to most accurately calculate all the parameters....but that is a bit slower than just entering AMR. All that said, I don't think your holds will be off by that much if your distances are short or moderate and the angles are not that acute etc. So it depends on what the demands of your shot are, but technically, for top accuracy in your solution....manually enter LOS and angle and let the kestrel do it's thing.

Sadly, no. Wish it did, and that is something that would be cool to add to future iterations. Not sure how complicated that would be or accurate considering that for setting target direction, the requirement is pretty coarse.

But target direction is only that, just the direction based on the internal compass, angle must be added manually.

Of course, there are work arounds if you can spend the money. The new Sig RF's that they launched this weekend will dump it all in for you automatically. Vec X will do the same, other solutions are coming that will have that functionality.

Are you using this for hunting, competition, just target shooting? All of the above?

Yeah, the new Sig RFs will be interesting. I want to see more about their RF binos.

I'm using it for competition. Still trying to figure it all out. Thanx for the help!

Sure thing, if you have any questions about any of the Sig or Leica products, I am supposed to have calls with both camps this week to talk this stuff. Don't know if it will happen, but if you have a particular questions, feel free to PM it to me and I 'll see if I can get an answer if the calls actually come off.
