Are there other vendors who sell Criterion Prefit barrels for Remington besides NSS?

I have a barrel ordered from them, but 16 week lead times are a bit long. I'm looking to buy another Prefit, but don't want to wait if I don't have to.

We make Remage prefits and we have barrel nuts to go with them. Barrel nuts come in SS or black nitride.
I haven't put the nuts up on the website yet but they're going to be $25 with the purchase of a barrel, $35 as a standalone. Add 5 bucks for the nitrided version.

The nuts us a 1-1/4" box wrench to tighten in place.

They're available for 16 and 18 tpi with 1-1/16" major diameter (IE Remington spec and the Kelbly's, Gunwerks, BAT spec)

We are cutting through a backlog now, I have a 6mm Creedmoor and a 6.5mm Creedmoor on the shelf due to a customer going to a Nucleus build instead.

i believe that NSS is the single source supplier of Criterion savage and Remage barrels. You can buy a blank directly from Criterion, but not a chambered barrel. NSS has nice lugs and nice barrel nuts for the Remage system; be sure to replace the factory R700 lug when changing the barrel. There are other systems and other barrels available, at far less than 16 weeks

I keep an extra one waiting, so unless I win the lottery and get the opportunity to shoot out a barrel in 4 months, I'm not without a barrel. All joking aside, if I was shooting them out faster, I would just order them 2 at a time. They do shoot very well for the price.

This will be my 3rd Criterion Prefit. They shoot very well for me, and the price is great. I just wish I didn't have to wait so long.

I built a .223Rem trainer this year using a Criterion Remage barrel and it has been an absolute tack driver!

Out of curiosity what caliber and twist rate are you waiting on that has a 16 week lead time?

Savage action, 308 Win 1/10 twist, Varmint profile, 26", Chromoly.

I'm going to need a new barrel for my Remage 6.5 Creedmoor soon, and the wait is also 10-16 weeks for chromoly.

Can you share your specs? I am considering the same thing - a 223 trainer. Thanks

    Rem 700 carbon steel action
tuned stock trigger at 3.5lbs (waiting on Geissele to release their Rem 700 trigger)
Criterion Remage 26" SS 1 in 8" twist barrel w/ .223 Wylde chamber
Northland Shooter lug and barrel nut
KRG Bravo 2 chassis in Sako Green
    MDT 10 round polymer magazines
    Bushnell LRHS 4-18x44
    Seekins low rings
    Warne 20MOA steel base

I have somehow managed to NOT take any photos of it yet in the 6 weeks since I put it together.

Accuracy wise it's been phenomenal! I am seating bullets damn near to the max length of the MDT mags (2.550") and still jumping 0.020"

My go to load is 73gr ELD-M's over 25.1gr of TAC in a LC case lit by a CCI 400 @3020fps.

I'm tweaking an 80gr ELD-M load and even the persnickety 75gr ELD-M's appear to shoot well in it so far over 23.8gr of TAC.

I see. I've always just gone with the stainless pre-fits from either Criterion or Savage. All have shot amazing for me and been very easy to clean.
