    MA
Massachusetts dead last out of 50 for Patriotism....

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/a...riotism-Virginia-patriotic-state-America.html

I fly my National colors with a Gadsden below it but Im just thought of probably as "that guy".

Oddly MA was the stewing pot of the Revolution but once begun and after the evacuation of British Troops from Boston I have read accounts of the other 13 colonies even than qustioning why this war for Massachusetts was being fought.

We had some giants here to include Sam Adams, Hancock, and Samuel Whittemore. Id imagine they would wonder if their sacrifice was worth it based on the state of this state.

For those who want to see the entire list easily without clicking. Right off the top of my head, I see a mild to moderate tax burden correlation as well as a red-blue from the last election cycle, but there's definitely some outliers there on the latter.

    Thats disappointing.

Ive always thought of Ma as the second most historically significant state, after Virginia, with Penn. likely 3rd with William Penn and Ben Franklin. We had Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, and Henry, to name a few, and the war ended here at Yorktown. Then we had Lee, Jackson, the war ended at Appomattox, and we probably had the most battles. Theres more but thats not the point. Slowly, I see our fine state turning blue. It sickens me, but Im surprised at Ma. Enjoyed my trip there last summer, and meeting MCameron, but wouldnt go back to Boston on a bet.

Its a great place....except for the people......some of them anyway.

You didnt meet Mcameron in Ptown did you?

Nah, I didn’t want to submit mags to that on his first trip :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Its actually a great place to visit. Had the fams bike ride the trails at race point and we went into Ptown for pizza. There is a pizza joint about two thirds of the way down the main "drag" and across the street is a liquor store. the pizza joint is BYOB.

I went to the liquor store and I was wearing a USMC cover. The owner asked if I was USMC and I replied yes.

He started to tell me about his dad. His dad was OOD in Pearl Harbor Dec 7 1941. In the movie Tora Tora Tora his dad is represented in the movie as the USMC officer eating breakfast that gets told by his wife the Harbor is being attacked.

I looked his dad up. He ended up getting shipped to Midway after the Pearl Harbor attack than after that he joined the Marines on Guadalcanal.

A poignant note about his dad and what type of man he was, he looked up the grave of a fellow Marine friend killed on the Canal. They had been fraternity members together at college. They were both Jewish and he saw that his friends grave was marked with a cross, Stars of David apparently not being available. He personally put a Star of David on his friends grave.

Some humanity in a world of shit.

The store owner showed me a shadow box he had made up with his fathers medals (Silver Star) and parts of Japanese aircraft from PH.

Cant wait to get down that way this summer because I want to tell him the story of the grave. If its not one he knows his family needs to know it.
