Rifle Scopes Mounting NF 20MOA Magmount

So I got a 20MOA Nightforce magmount but there is no indication on it to tell you which direction to mount it. I also don't have any tools to tell me which way the taper goes. Anyone know for sure which way?

One end should be thicker than the other. The thicker end goes toward the rear. The 1/2" nuts go to the left.

Use an adjustable wrench as a gauge. . Or those silly things called rulers.

You're measuring a difference of something like. 040 of an inch, I don't think that's gonna cut it.
