Sturgis 1971-- Racing Flat track, Short track

Sturgis back then was the most fun to attend RACING week. A whole week of 1/2 mile at the fairgrownds and short track just on the other side of the highway and a TT thrown in there.
Every able bodied Resident of Sturgis was a Deputy but they helped the racers out. We would muck out a stall and stay in the Horse Barn or go out and sweep out the Dugouts at the VA hospital or something like a vacant house full of bees.
The Townies or someone would have some of the BEST Prepped Tracks for us to ride on. Best of the year except the Mellon Days 1/2 mile at Rocky Ford but I digress.
PARTY HARDY and Race all week except for Wed. when everyone just kind of stepped back.
Now it has turned into a GOATFUCK of epic proportions!!!
You couldn't get ME there with a winch, well maybe a wench, And I don't think they hold any Racing events in town anymore.
Anybody go there? What is it like?

I'm invaded right now, most riding groups go 10-15 under the speed limit, took forever to get to Rapid and back this morning for a dentist visit. It's one great big t-shirt sale event to the 55+ independently wealthy and retired early crowd. I really, REALLY, don't want to see those titties, one out of twenty are bangable with five shots of Cuervo leading in at best. Sure, some hot ones hit the pictures online and biker mags, but with half a million-ish bikers present, you're going to get a couple diamonds in the rough skin shit show.

I'm heading to the SD Hills cutting off road for about five miles where none of the bikers go for some fly fishing while they all do "Wyoming Wednesday" tomorrow, hopefully I'm running against the flow and don't get too held up. Really though, I just want some quiet. I wish it was as cool to muffle your motorcycle as it is your rifle.

Yeah, I hadn't thought about it for a while but it is time to think about a Party at Tucker's. Nothing but the best could go on there. It would be a great time.
BBQ pits dug here and there and latrines dug in there and yonder and mud rassling and moto-x and flat track and ATVs around and through the pond, that should be fun with a keg or 3 tapped here and there---Yeah, you are right.

In my OP I was just remembering how Sturgis used to be a super Race meet that has now evolved into a super shit show.

I'm not into May-November hook-ups at the Lake Havasu retirement village on tour. Maybe my observation is because I haven't bothered to venture into Sturgis itself, but what's been on the road has an average age in the 60s for the females, and the young guys are all going stag here. From what I've seen here in the Hills so far the last week, Daytona BW has WAY hotter babes, and the hottest biker babe group I've ever seen was actually Black Bike Week at Myrtle, hands down.

That said, I'm not into hookups at all anyhow, I have me a good gal and I'm as faithful to her as I am to the Second Amendment, but even though I still like to steal a quick glimpse at forbidden fruit at times, the best scenery here is still the granite hills or a calm pond breaking with top water action.
