I've been shooting our local mid-range matches in the F/TR class with a Remington 40X .308 barreled action in an old AICS 1.5 chassis. So far, I've been using a Harris bipod with a rear squeeze bag with the rifle. I'm generally averaging around 95% with this equipment. I'd like to do some small equipment upgrades to see if I can improve my scores, but I don't want to go nuts. I'll probably confine my F/TR shooting to this local match - so a full F/TR build isn't an option. I know the AICS isn't the best option for an F/TR stock/chassis, but I'm trying to do this sort of on the cheap by sticking with what I have.

First item I started looking for was a rear bag rider for the AICS, but I haven't been able to find one. Is there something out there that I'm missing?

Give Europtic a call. They might have a suggestion.
As you noted, it's probably not the best stock for FT/R. It'll work but you will for sure hamper your scores.
I'm in kind of the same boat, I have an A3/5 and the butthook is driving me bananas. I'm currently shopping stocks/chassis systems to use for next season. I'll finish with what I have but would like to make my life a bit more pleasant next year. I shoot like you only I got a deal on the Sinclair Tactical bipod and use that. But I'm off a rear squeeze bag as well. It keeps it more fun, using "sub-par" equipment, and still doing well.
Good luck.

A number of guys have run a rod under the rear stock off the butt pad. Try your Google fu for pix.
Thanks. You know, I stumbled on one that consists of a rod attaching to a stock spacer from a company in the UK shortly after I posted the question. Kind of expensive though, so I'm looking at making one that works in a similar fashion.

This was a 1” bar I cut from a action wrench. Tapped two holes and used a QR from an old Atlas.

I used this on an Rimfire that had a horrible stock and terrible balance.

What is the Website for the company?

My solution:

I folded a piece of sheet metal over the bottom of the butt form a "U", then ran bolts through the side to secure it. I used some epoxy putty to cover the bolts, but if you have enough skills, you could probably counter sink them and get a much more flush finish.

I also built a Front Bag Rider with some 90 degree pieces of aluminum and a delrin block. I just pulled the front skin sections off, and drilled 2 holes through the forend of the chassis, and use 2 bolts to secure it.

I have no issues with it, I have used it to shoot Master scores in both Mid and Long Range F-Open. I have been within a point of making High Master, damn wind always gets me!

Gotta love the looks at matches when I show up with this thing!
