Ok so im wanting ro upgrade my DPMS Lite hunter its currently in the 20" 308 target barrel configuration. I am looking to change it up to a 243 or possibly even a 22-250 havent made my mind up yet. My question is to convert to either caliber is all i need to change just the barrel? And have the bolt headspaced? Im assuming since they are all 3 built off of the same case the bolt would be usable? Any info on barrels, where to find one, ect...

Thanks in advance

Yes, just barrel change. You should just check the headspace to make sure there isn't a defect in the new barrel or something. But you should just torque down the barrel nut on new barrel, check head space and start shooting.

Have you thought about a whole new complete upper instead of just barrel? It's more expensive, but then you basically have 2 different guns, with just a 15 second upper swap. Wouldn't need a second BCG or charging handle, could just us the ones you already have.

22-250 is not based on the same cartridge as the others. From what I've read, they can have mag issues.
Your correct it is based off of the 250/3000 savage cartrige but having the same 473" rimless head size. .243, .260, 7-08, .308 ect.. it will still fire from the same bolt (in my mind) and correct using larger 20 rd mags i can see where the bottle neck would develope a feed problem. But out of a standard 5rd mag i would think it would do fine (it feeds out of a standard 4/5 rd S/A mag well on all other rifles) again i may be thinking wrong on this

What's your intended use? There may be a better suited cartridge that would have less issues?
Honestly the only reason to build a different caliber is to have something different to take to the range or on a varmint hunting trip, whitetail hunt ect.. plus i have bolt guns in all three calibers and plenty of brass to load for either caliber to build a load for them. And its something different. Ive never been one for (being normal) lol.

What would be the best barrel options with the best price point?
