FOPA is a classic case of what compromise and reaching across the aisle looks like where the 2A is concerned. It's a law that protects gun owners from other laws that are already infringing upon constitutionally guaranteed rights. In other words, it gave gun owners absolutely nothing that wasn't ours already, instead just stemmed the tide of unconstitutional gun control laws. In return, we had to give up machine guns being able to be produced. The gun grabbers laughed their asses off at that.
It's like workers going on strike to stop pay cuts, and succeed in getting their jobs back at the same pay as well as losing their health care benefit. We the shooters, are the workers.

Why bring low level LEO's into it when this case involves only the Feds? I can not see how bad laws are LEO's fault. Bad laws are what we get for electing bad leaders.

possession of marijuana
daughter has accused him of child abuse
daughter has accused him of taking porn pix of her
at least 2 known 911 calls for parking lots wrt road rage involving guns
multiple criminal trespass complaints for douch-baggery
threatened healthcare workers
threatened federal judge
threatened to fly explosive laden plane into ATF federal building
made las vegas shooter like threats to the court
no family members appeared as character witnesses
held without bail for all above reasons

When someone calls and says, “My boyfriend...., or my family member...”, he says cops are falling out of their chairs in a rush for the raid. If they identify themselves and it’s a love interest or family he says there’s a 99.99% chance the crime and call are legit, so they act immediately.

I know , I am not really arguing but stating the case and facts in the hopes that they (as most on here already do I am sure) educate themselves and their fellow workers so we can end up on the same side when the conflagration comes.

Maybe I'm wrong but your response indicates that you did not read the entire press release. Here are two operative quotes from that press release:
"Alfred Pick pleaded guilty...to a charge of possession of a firearm while an unlawful user of a controlled substance.”
“In addition to the charge for which he was convicted, Pick was originally charged with two other violations – possession of an unregistered firearm and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number. As part of Pick’s agreement to plead guilty and agreement as to the term of his sentence, these charges were dismissed.”

He was allowed to plead guilty to a single, lesser charge and had two (2) more serious charges dismissed despite all of the facts, testimony, and evidence re possession of cocaine & marijuana, ongoing public misbehavior with firearms, significant threats against public officials and medical staff, and sexual offenses presented at his sentencing hearing. The US Attorney cut this deal with him even though he admitted to stealing the rifle from the military and then obliterating the serial number.
In other words, he got off easy. There was no injustice here.
