Good morning guys
I am trying to decide between these two optics for PRS style shooting. I actually have a brand new Razor gen 2 that will be here today. I had thought about selling the Razor and purchasing a Kahles, but cant quite make my mind up. I know I have heard good things about the Razor and the reason I got it was because I picked up a 50% off msrp off of a prize table. What do you guys think on these two optics?

Both are good optics. You have the Razor so mount it up and try it out and see if you like it.

Run the Razor. They are a workhorse.

If you end up looking into a Kahles, look at the k525i. Awesome optic overall.

If Razor offered an SKMR or SKMR3, I'd buy it and never look back. Reticle is the only thing the Kahles would offer me over the Razor. They're similar optically (Kahles a little better, but not much), and both are well-built and well-designed with good turrets and controls and a generous eye box.

Have you used the 2C reticle? Also the AMG 7B is very similar to the Kahles reticles.

Also keep an eye out at SHOT this year. You might be happier with the Gen IIs. ;)

7B horizontal is too busy for my tastes. I really like the look of the Kahles with the scope in use.

I have used the 2C reticle. Not a big fan of the open center.

These are small nit-picks. None of these are bad reticles. But the SKMR is one of my favorites and I think having a reticle that you really, really like is a big thing at this price point.

7b just has an extra .5 mil mark in horizontal but I agree to each his own as to likes and dislikes for reticles as not everyone will like the same things.

Of the two in question i'd stick with the Razor less you found a 624i at a comparable price or needed a weight reduction from the razor. SKMR3 is my favorite reticle so i run kahles across the board but both newer gen (k525/k318) as i was always rather displeased with the 624i for the asking price. Mainly due to CA. I compared the 624i several times to a Gen II and never could tell a difference except maybe on the top end of the mag range where the 624i edged out the Gen II but taking into consideration the Gen II is 27x vs the 624i's 24x. Both are great and proven optics.

I also am not a fan of the horizontal on the EBR7B or i'd likely have an AMG right now. The horizontal 2/10th deviations are entirely too tall to me. SKMR3 won me over sometime ago which that and the ergos are almost primarily why i went Kahles.

I'm with kissodeath. Own both (well, actually Gen 1 Razor). Bought the Kahles after and originally intended to sell the Vortex. But, decided to keep it and glad I did. Glad to have both.

I have 2 Gen II Razors now. Before I just bought my second Razor I agonized over buying the Khales for the .2 mil marks on the horizontal. At the end of the day the Razors or damn reliable and the price for the used ones recently are in the $1700 range for the 4.5-27. The other thought I had was sometimes we think that more is better but the more competitions I attend the more I realize that the less your mind has to think about and the simpler you make a stage the better off you are. What I mean by saying that is maybe the .2’s is more than I want to think about. .4 and .6 are just one side or the other from the .5 mark, etc. Just my thought process when going through the same decision.
