Scope: Vortex razor gen 2. Factory specs state 28 Mrad of adjustment.
Mounting heigth 1.18
Rifle: Bergara bmp14 6.5 creedmoor
Bullet Ballistics: Hornady ELDX 143gn 2750 fps
Data says i need 30.5 moa at 1k yrds.
according to article i read it says scopes total adj. divided by 2. So 28/2=14 14-5 (zero adj.) =9
So 9moa usable adjustment available.
Adding a 20moa base would give me 29 moa of adjustment.
Does this look right?

What Stello said in 1.
20 MOA equals 5.82 Mils
If you don't have a ballistics calculator, you can go to the Vortex site and use theirs.
Just fill out the info that you have and look at the range card. I would think this would get you close enough.

I was about to explain all this lol, but I think you referred the OP to a reasonable and reliable source.

Also, to the OP, remember that if your scope has 28 MRADs of total adjustment, you divide by 2 and get 14 MRADs not MOAs. This is more less a ballpark figure how much useable elevation you'll have but not exactly a for sure thing!

I just suggested Vortex because I used it for a long time before buying a Garmin 701 with AB. It is a great free easy to use site.
Basically one MOA equals .29 Mrad. You can quickly find a site using Google to use a fast convertor.

Main reason I'm asking is that I'm thinking about buying a spuhr mount and can only afford to do it once and want to buy the right one. I have a 20 moa base already mounted. Still working up to 1k but would like to hit that 1mile one of these days. So with current setup a 0moa mount with a 20 moa base is adequate to 1k yrds?

Yep! More than adequate for 1k yards with scope you are using. A 0 MOA mount with a 20 MOA base will likely get you out to about 1500 yards with the setup you have described.

As said before, you’re fine. My k525i is 28 or 29 mils. With a 20moa base, I have almost 20 mils of useable elevation on my 6creed.

That gets me to 1600 or so (only taken it to 1100 so far).
