I've had a Bushnell Fusion 1600 10x42 laser rangefinder / binocular combo since 2010. Overall, I've been happy with it until something got whacked and it lost collimation (the left / right eye pictures no longer align). I paid over $150 for getting this serviced out of warranty. At this stage, I'm all good. Shit breaks and you get it repaired... although it did irk me how expensive this service was.

After I get it back, I put it away and finally got to take it out for a hunt yesterday. The collimation problem is still there. I had to do all my glassing with one eye.....this sucks. What is even worse is that the rangefinder now only ranges to about 200 yards. Pretty much useless.

I can't get over that when I pay money to send something in for repair, I receive it back in *worse* condition.

I summarized this to Bushnell in a service request. Let's see if they have a sense of customer service / honor and make this right. Will update this thread with more info.

I’ve had the same exact thing happens to me with a rifle scope I sent back to them. Sent it in about 6weeks before a precision rifle class. The turrets were binding up real bad. Got it back 2 days before the class and the problem was not fixed at all. called them they were supposed to send me a label to overnight it back and send me a new scope. They ended up not sending the label until afternoon next day. So I was out a scope for the class and $200 security deposit. They did offer to replace the scope with a higher end model at a discount but it still cost me $600 extra.

Ouch....I was lucky that the animals weren't out because of the smoke from the Norcal fires so it didn't cause me to miss a shot. Had this been on an expensive out of state elk hunt, I would be ranting-lunatic mad.

I have a rangefinder I have been meaning to send in to them for a while now. It is one of the scout 1000 ARC Folds Of Honor models that I only used a few times at the range to 600 yards and in the back yard setting up archery targets. The one time I went to use it on a hunt it just stopped ranging, all of the other functions in the display are there just no range feedback.

A quick followup.... The Bushnell folks did make things right. They couldn't fix the range-finding component as the needed electronic parts aren't in stock and not available any more. In compensation, they did offer a very generous discount on any of their products.

I used the discount to purchase a pair of Forge 10x42 binoculars. Knowing that I am going hunting tomorrow they even rush shipped it for me. First impressions of these binos are very positive. Well made, solid, and very clear.

The moral of the story is that if you plan on investing in gear that will last decades, don't buy stuff with integrated electronics. Assuming I don't have any major collisions, I can see these binos lasting a looong time. I can't say the same for any of the gadgets I have.

I'll have my buddy range things for me if / until I decide to buy another LRF.

Those binos are badass. I'm looking forward to getting a pair of them myself.

All electronics fail. Glad they made it right. I got a pair of Forge 10x binos also, for PRS matches. Absolutely love them, smooth controls, great glass, major upgrade.
