Violence comes easy. Just look how fast a mob can turn ugly. It's non violence that is hard. It requires thought and discipline.
I got the point of the article. side from that, he seems to be minimizing and rationalizing the actions of the Pittsburgh shooter a bit. "All Jews must die!" isn't exactly the battle cry of someone vexed with a subset of the whole allegedly aiding in the passage of illegal aliens.

I didn't come away with minimization or rationalization of the actions of the shooter. Being that I follow him as well, I know he isn't an anti-semite or racist. He does talk a lot about the anger against white men but that can hardly be called a biased position these days.
His point was what lays below the surface and is generally unseen is what causes shit to go down.
In that light, he is absolutely correct. What is hidden is often root cause of violence. Hidden prejudices can be anything.

My take away however is that the people stacking up the kindling know exactly what they are doing and are hoping for a problem so they can step in with a "solution" as to why we need to give up our last remaining freedoms and privacy and our right to keep tools of freedom.
To understand human nature, is to understand the natural man. The natural man is selfish and cares little about others unless it directly affects them. Hopefully religion of some sort helps people to overcome the natural man. It takes work to become peaceful and loving the neighbor and helping instead of trying to harm or better ones self at the cost of another. Like it was stated before, violence comes naturally. Lack of understanding or compassion for others opinions can also lead to frustration which will lead to violence. Some people do not know how to cope, or ignore other people without getting under their skin, and again some of those same people do not know how to let things go and they let it build up until the breaking point when they have convinced themselves that violence is the only option.
Violence can also be a tool for the righteous, when the time comes to cut fence and sort bastards out, you want good men very skilled in violence.
