Is anyone having any issues with battery life? From what I can tell there's not a way to turn this thing off once you turn it on. It seems like it has to just time out and turn itself off. Please correct me if I am wrong. Also the battery did not seem to last a long time when it was paired with my Kestrel. Let me know if you guys are finding the same thing and if there's anything that can be done about it.

Be careful when storing or transporting the unit... If something presses on the button in either situation you will have a dead battery fast.

I wonder if self adhesive velcro'ing a plastic cap over the button would help? Just flick it off the button to use, and let it fall back over it to keep it from accidentally being pressed.

Just thinking out loud here....

Thats not a bad idea. I ordered a case from TYR and I will see how that works out first.

The Bluetooth kills stuff fast because it is always looking for a signal to connect too, so turn the Bluetooth off if you are not using it actively

And yes, if you are moving around if the button gets pushed it will start looking for stuff.
There is no power off timer that you are aware of correct? I could not find it in the manual.

It's button pushes, you can toggle the BT off

No power off timer, I can email them and ask for some sort of suspend?

It's meant to be in sleep mode but never really off
That would be great. I used this thing on a hunting trip and right before my son was getting ready to take a shot the thing died on me. Fortunately I arranged a couple spots beforehand that I thought the elk might come out in and it ended up working out but it could have been really bad

They need to make a software update where the button needs to be held for like 3 seconds to power it on and held for like
15 seconds to power it off. I’ve never used the X so I’m sure if there’s a scan mode this would be problematic.

I really liked my X unit until I began using for hunting in cold weather. I really didn’t have any issues with the button configuration as much as my own circulation problems with Raynaud’s syndrome.

I couldn’t feel the button for ranging at all most of the time and found it was activated before I wanted to or not at all.

I really liked the BT functionality with the 5700 but had to let it go to another member.

I went back to the original Terrapin - with that large button and the audible click I can use it easily when my hands are messed up - also the etched reticle helps me a lot.

Did you sell the X? Is it up for sale?

I am but cant find any relevant resources online to confirm.

Im getting about 100-200 shots per battery while using the bluetooth. The device just shuts off periodically near the end of the battery life (without warning), then a few shots after displays a prompts that indicates "Lo" in the view finder.

Can anyone else confirm this poor battery performance from their experiences?

Safran claims 4000 activation from a single battery (presuming without bluetooth), my reality has been very far from this claim.

Really disappointed
