Atlas, Atlas CAL or Elite Iron lightweight non pan - EI is my favorite now - a little pricier though.
Is the Elite Iron worth if I just plan on shooting 6.5CM? I see it is almost double the weight of the Atlas.

Take a look at the Cyke-pod. I was using an Atlas till I tried one of these. Best bipod I have discovered to date. Extremely stable and incredibly versatile. A little pricey, but worth the money.

Damn you guys. I just googled the Cyke-pod and now I need this with the dovetail mount for the bottom my SRS handguard. Looks like my Atlas is going up on the PX soon.

Yeah, I was all fat dumb and happy with the Atlas until I saw this video. But seriously, use landscape mode when you are shooting a video!
At one time I was considering buying one of David Tubb's Asymmetric bi-pods, but I think I like the Ckye a bit more.
Now I do not know which I want. I was all set to go to my LGS today and get myself an Atlas but now I am not sure. Glad to see all the responses, it looks like I have found a good place for more questions.
I mentioned the Aluminum version since you said 6.5 CM. It is the lighter weight version and good up to .338LM. The EI is just different. It places the barrel lower in the apex of the triangle. I've found it to be (maybe) a little more stable but mainly it has better recoil characteristics from all shooting positions. Is it twice as good? I don't think so. The non panning feature is not a real hindrance and the weight helps; unless you plan to do a lot of walking with it. If I'd never tried it, I dont think I'd have been unhappy with any of the bipods mentioned here or a Harris. They all work just fine.
I'm using one not mentioned so far and really liking it. It's a Knights Armament, a little pricey but came with the DTA when I bought it.

Few months back, I 3D printed a single shot adapter for the SRS that worked for any caliber that uses the standard DT barrel extension. Took a few revisions but I finally made one that works for the SAC 223 conversion now. Tested feeding standard 55gr rounds as well as long loaded 80gr rounds. So far so good.
Looking to add an arca rail to my SRS. Debating b/w the RRS 7" or the Sawtooth 11.6" model.
Pro of the RRS is it sits up against the triggerguard, which is obviously near the center of gravity. Con is it is short.
Pro of the sawtooth is that it runs the fulls length, con is it wont reach back as far as the RRS so wouldnt balanace as well.

So I’m through the first 82 pages...intent was to read them all before buying but with a Black Friday sale last week I couldn’t wait.
Ordered a covert with a 26” 6.5 CM kit but intend to order a few short barrel kits as well to take full advantage of compact size.
Question for now (I’m sure I’ll have many more) is what case are y’all using? I’d prefer a hard case that I can fly with but given I bought the covert I’m looking for something that has optionality to have longer kits with me.
Pros/Cons of DTA hard/soft case vs a Pelican and cutting it myself?

How do you like your off set red dot? I have been debating on getting one for my Spuhr, just wasn't sure if I should mount it to the Spurh like yours, or get a rail mounted offset red dot mount. Anyone else have experience with them on our platform?
I have mine mounted 12 o'clock, it's extremely fast to getting on target without having to manipulate the magnification. Youll save a few seconds per target. Otherwise it has a limited use.
I've been using it for about a year now, and can't really decide if it's worth it; the price of the red dot, mounting plate and the 2-3 oz of added weight.
SAC posted on some social media site that their 223 conversions are moving right along!! Cant wait.
ES Tactical has their 33xc barrel ready to order (or at least it’s no longer “coming soon”). Who’s jumping in on that caliber?

I was going to order a 6.5 saum barrel but seen that is available as well. I'm curious to see what the dies from Tubb will cost first before jumping into that caliber.

The 33xc seating die is $175, up on his website. He said the sizing die is the same A7 tool steel as the 6xc die, so I expect it to run in that $145-$175 range. But you can use the same dies with both the 33xc and 37xc if you choose to do so, just swap the bushing and seating stem.

Anyone have a barrel in their srs that caused the safety to be harder to actuate. I have two other barrels i lock em in all the same way. Safety is easy to move. New barrel i acquired causes the safety to be hard to move. Scratching my head on this one. Btw i never use the barrel lock feature.
You may not think its a good reason but its a reason and the reason is so if you have a scope on say your AR your SRS and your HTI, you have the same rail 0-degree. That way your zero will be reasonably close when you move between platforms. If you had one that was 20 one 40 and one zero it would be a mess to change the acope around.
You may not like it, but thats the reason and there is an easy work-around: you put the cant in the scope mount rather than the rail.
Hey guys, I've got a covert with the 16" .308 barrel. I want to use it for hunting and have to go lead free.
I tried to use cutting edge maximus 150grain, copper rapto 135grain but don't get it to shoot real nice.
I use H4895 (different loads), Lapu brass and CCI BR2.
Anyone using CEB bullets? Or what kind of lead free are you using? Factory ammo would also be ok.

Lehigh defense has a 152gr controlled chaos load. Thats a copper solid. Barnes bullets are worth a look also.
Look at Hammer bullets also. They were easy to make shoot well.
