I bought one of those Samsonite patio tables in 1996 and just retired it last year, giving it to my son. Takes a lickin and keeps on tickin (you have to be of a certain age to remember that line).
I still use my Timex work watch every work day. It has been through many watch bands, rain, oils, grease, sweat, dropping, smacking, scratching and just general abuse. Still ticking since 1990, possibly mid 80s. I cannot remember exactly.
