I have seen a few posts about folks using a Remington 700 magnum S/A for a PRC. I also read where the 700 was a poor choice because "using the 147gr bullets, you wont be able to take advantage of the max OCL. " Is that true?

Yes, the longer bullets would have to be seated deeper into the casing, below the shoulder/body junction, if fed from a magazine. Single load would be fine if you choose to use a longer COAL. "Medium" actions would work best. You can also go long action and load the long bullets too.

I think Berger is suppose to release 155gr .264 VLD bullets.

I am not having any issues with either the factory Hornady ELD Ammo, or my 147 reloads. All are loaded at 2.955 and feed fine from the AICS mags in the Rem 700 SA. 3020 fps and .5 MOA with my mediocre skill set at 750y.

If one wanted to run heavier pills then a medium or LA would probably be best.

I am building a 6.5PRC or 6.5SAUM (have not decided 100% yet) on my Titanium 700 long action. I plan on seating them waaaay out there to maximize the long action. After studying both it is obvious they kick ass in either length action, but I would feel like I am wasting some of the capacity on a short action. But it appears they will still be blazing fast regardless... I wouldn't worry about it!

Please post photos when you complete your build!!!

I have rem 700 in 6.5 mag and 1-9" twist stock 24" barrel. Magnum SA rifle.
Runs 129 SST at 3250 fps and groups well
With a wyatt's box installed could go for 2.935 and work but is the twist going to work for a 143 Hornady bullet. ?
