I got my Dillon 550c today. I got in mounted and put together. The first thing I did was test the powder thrower. I was using a friends Lee scale; I know its not the most accurate but I think it will do for this test. I tested H1000 at 28.8 gr and H4350 at 39.5 gr. I threw 50 charges of each after feeling pretty confident that I was set for the test. What I found was pretty interesting

H1000
AVG 29.842
SD .14
ES .5
4 more than +/- .2
14 at +/- .2
19 at +/- .1
13 at target

H4350
AVG 39.478
SD .17
ES 0.7
5 more than +/- .2
15 at +/- .2
18 at +/- .1
12 at target

I think this will work for training/hunting loads. I will still weigh every charge for my competition rifle. I hope some of this info helps any one looking. I thought it was going to be a lot worse based on the reading that I have done.

I have attached the spreadsheet that I used to track all the data.

I don't load rifle on the 550 anymore. I cheated and use 2 chargemasters. With the powder bar I have only loaded pistol. But it does make the accuracy much better over the stock one that comes with it. Stock is kind of all over the place, while the upgrade holds .1 or exact every time.

My 550 has all those upgrades and more on it. To make throws better, I added that bar, baffle, and polished it all inside the hopper. The 2 worst things on a 550 is powder drops and primer bar getting stuck sometimes. I also have the roller bearing setup...it's on ebay.

Gotcha, I am assuming you are using flake or ball with your pistol ammo.

I want to redo the test with vibration on the press and the 4350 (I will post results at some point). I have read a lot of people getting good results that way with extruded. I will say with the results that I got and the results of my ladder test with that rifle; I should see really good results at the range. Like I said I will measure each load for my competition rifle.
