While our inept government has us freaking out about illegal immigration on the southern border, the seldom talked about issue of Chinese birth tourism for anchor babies just continues and grows every year. I know other countries do it as well (Russia for one), but by far the Chinese have been abusing it the most (as far as we know from what little is reported). Tonight I stumbled across this article which makes me wonder even more. Why would any sane 1st world country allow birthright citizenship (our constitution has been misinterpreted by the left once again), aaaand allow non-citizens to buy up its land?

My wife has a friend who married a Chinese guy, they live just on the other side of the bridge from San Francisco. We went to spend a weekend with them once so she could visit. I met some second and third generation Chinese people that either couldn't or refused to speak english. They live in Chinese communities, go to Chinese schools, shop at Chinese grocery stores, and hang out at Chinese owned entertainment places. That's my problem with some immigrants, if you are going to come to America be American! But in every big city nowadays you see these communities of immigrants that are just a small version of what they left, they are not trying to be American, they are just transplanting their home countries here, and we are expected to adjust to them. It's worse in San Diego, they have the Chinese sector, the Filipino sector, the Japanese sector, and the Thai sector.

Agreed. We as a nation do nothing to ensure people actually integrate into our society as Americans. Even the socialist nations like Norway and Sweden that the left love so much have very strict integration policies. In those countries you are put into a program and expected to complete it or your ass is leaving. They are forced to learn the language, traditions, history, and laws and to become part of the nation or they kick them out. We set people loose to do whatever the hell they want for ten years (after receiving a green card) and then give a very simple test (in like 47 different languages) to gain citizenship. We are stupid as a nation.
