Thermal drift "can" happen with Aimpoints, EOtechs but not regular scopes with etched reticles.

It “can” happen with any optic. With a precision rifle scope, would it be enough to matter? No. Especially with the other environmental factors on other things.
 
That post reads more like the clowns who stand up during the Q&A session after a speaker and ask dumb questions with a long preface about their personal experience so they can brag about themselves. "Yeah I lift and I'm a competitor, so...."
