For you guys that are paying to shoot 1K yards..

I travel a lot and it varies depending on where you're at. When I was working in Montana, we had access to a 1000yd range (Ryegate Gun Club) and the fee to join the club was $30 annually. When I work in Oklahoma or the Texas Panhandle, I shoot at Fouled Bore Precision and it's about $30/day if I remember correctly. Both places have web pages and if you call ahead and talk with the guys @ Fouled Bore, they can get you setup to shoot a full mile.

I pay 0 dollars to shoot as far as I can find a backstop... :)

Sig Sauer Academy.

One day reach for 1000 class.

$250 unless using a discount from having taken a class, plus your ammo cost.

Good time.

So jealous of you guys. Shooting space is so limited here. I pay $225 annually to be able to shoot paper at 600 yards. To make it to 1K there are only three places I know of and two involve a 3+ hour drive. The other is a $1000 annual membership and you can only use the range at their convenience.

That's cray cray... One more reason for me to never step foot east of the Rockies. My spot that I do my mile shoots is about 45 min from my house. I am a lifetime member of a 600 club 5 min from my house that I paid 275 for once so I guess I have it good.

Whereabouts is here?

My "regular" private range that I go to stretches out to 1 mile from the 1st FFP. 2nd FFP can get you out to 2400 yards or so. Up in Lampasas, TX.

Very strange wind conditions there. A true challenge due to the geography (slanted valley with an intersecting gully). Wind calls beyond 1150 behave quite differently there.

Roughly 20 Accuracy 1st targets are UKD. About 10 Larue auto-poppers (TG1) at UKD.

Buddy of mine has 2000 acres down in Seguin, TX. Nice setup there if you can keep the chiggers out of your legs and nutsack. Those chiggers down there evidently drink Chig-Away and DEET like it was whiskey, hehe.

So, it appears by the posts so far that if you live east of the Rockies, 1,000 yd ranges are hard to to come by and pricey when you find them. I was debating whether or not I wanted to lose some trees on my place here in East Texas in order to pursue a hobby. It looks like it might be worth it in the long run.

I live east of the Rockies...just barely. Cheyenne to be exact, and my local range goes to just past 1000. It depends on what bench I'm shooting from. $85 per year. Or there is lots of public land around to shoot on. I grew up in N. Colorado, and Pawnee grasslands, also east of the Rockies was the place to go shoot long range. There's also a shooting range there that goes to 1000.

Fouled Bore here in Oklahoma - as mentioned, $30/day set up for 1350yds
A couple 100yd ranges around me for $10/day as well (blech...)

325 yard range locally $60 a year I believe.
Fouled Bore like mention above.
Triple C is $50 and goes out to like 2400 yards. VERY NICE facility but paying 50 a day to shoot is crazy.

I’ll help clear the land for range privileges. ;)

The range situation sucks around here in NW Arkansas. To shoot 1000 yards I’d have to find a good stretch of interstate. :).

It’s the only thing that keeps me from spending lots of money on fancy rifles!

He’ll, that’s why I bought a vudoo 22lr.
I’ve been shooting under 300 a lot more than I used to.
Damn 22lr doesn’t print groups much bigger than my “regular” calibers at 100.

Ya that's a fuck job without a reacharound.

But if you think that's crazy, it's $40 - $50 to shoot one round of 100 sporting clays targets...…..

Cawthorne Cartidge club Navasota TX $500/yr all I can shoot...

We have a family membership at Pawnee Sportsman's Club, which is a few miles east of Ault, CO. They have steel out to 1000 and the price tag is cheap, like $170 a year IIRC. To shoot longer, we set our own targets on public land where we can go over 2500 yards.

Come shoot at Jacob's Plain Gun Club and log on to NTXPRC.com. it's near Greenville TX off of 30 a little bit. The matches are 40 bucks. There will be one the 26th of Jan. @djarecke will MD. CCC in Navasota is nice also if you're further south in TX by College Station.

What distance can you shoot?

We can shoot up to 1000 yds for $20 a day at CTA here in commiefornia, about a 30 minute drive from the pad, up to 600 at ASR about 15 away..
And I can shoot past 1000 at our Missouri farm, when I'm there...
