What a dumbass.

Supposedly bear spray doesn't work well on people. Probably like the way a cattle prod will move 2000# of beef, but I doubt it holds a candle to those zapper-things @1J04 uses. A good dogwood is universal though.

Oh damn, I think pepper spray has been non-flammable since I was alive.

Flammable pepper spray has got to be fuckin' awesome in some circumstances.

Lol, I have a prod that I'll give one benny to whoever can take a shot and not flinch...
The taser is stronger though.

The above is accurate.

And lets not get into the more than often, not so successful stories, regarding lone female officers when having to to confront a violent male solo.

Scenario. Female officer pulls over violent man 6ft, 180 lbs, who is unbeknownst to her, wanted for murder. Officer is 5ft 6in, lets give her 150lbs. Walks up to vehicle, when she is 10ft away, he quickly jumps out and begins to pummel her. Shes done.

The female officer in that video is clearly not suited for a hand to hand situation. Her life is 100% dependant on her taser and sidearm. Not good. Myself, im not a huge guy. 5ft 9in 140 lbs. But i boxed golden gloves for 8 years and can defend myself quite well. Im pretty confident there isnt a female officer that could fight me off of her hand to hand without taking some serious damage. And Im no Mike Tyson. Fact of the matter is, LE needs to get a better hand to hand training program. Theyre putting womens lives in serious danger. Male officers too. Seen some of the videos on youtube of cops fighting with suspects? All they try to do is take the guy to the ground because they cant punch. Fuck that. Stand and deliver. Knock his ass out. 90% of the population cant fight their way out of a paper bag. But the size/strength difference between men and woman is too much of a factor to overcome for females.

Id like to see LE incorporate more boxing into their training. Doing a little "hand to hand" in the academy isnt enough when it comes to the streets. If its not something you do on a daily, or at the least, weekly basis, you forget it. Especially when it comes to defending yourself. Muscle memory.

You make some valid points. Thing is, on the road and in the institutions we're pretty much trained to get it done without turning it into a street fight. People scream abuse all the time so to hand someone their ass and make it look pretty and palatable for the public is always on your mind. It's unfortunate. Best example is when i'm doing Court Security during a Jury Trial. You gotta Judge, Clerks, Jurors, Lawyers, Witnesses, and a room full of Friends, Family, and general Spectators. I've had probably 14 'incidents' of going hands on in Court. You don't do haymakers and bob and weave. You just get it done, and quick, and remove'm from the setting, quick. You gotta go lickity split before there's to many oohs and ahs. You snag someone by their hair (body follows head) and rip'm down to the deck, wrap'm up n cuff'm, then get'm back to the Court Holding Cell Pronto. Shit, I've drug males and females back there plenty of times. Done. Then everyone is like "what the hell just happened", and then it's forgotten. You do a sparing match you give people to much time to critique ya. It's the way it works.

When the Judge calls you into Chamber later and sez 'nice job Larry, and thx for not dragging that out', but your Honor, I did dra, I know Larry, that's not what I meant. :p

One of the other things in this whole fucked up mess is the difference between the Road and Jail/Prison. I'm referring to Fight or Flight. On the Road you have that option. It's a big world out there with a host of outs. Inside? Nope. There ain't no Flight. Can't be. Where the hell ya gonna go? It's your House and you gotta take care of it. Anyhow, the whole ground and pound deal inside and out is you're "hoping" for backup and to overwhelm with numbers, but yes, most of it starts one on one and you should probably have a modicum of skillz to bring to the game before signing on.

I really feel that women have no place in LE.

Agreed.

The blood is all over the women cops/leftists/feminist hands each time a women cop is disarmed and innocents are shot like in that courthouse a few years back.
There should be height/weight/strength and psychological standards for all applicants. If they can pass it bring them in.

Well, all those standards would be labeled "sexist". But as it is, if women want to join and get their head beat in, im fine with that. What im not fine with, is unqualified "LE" not being able to properly defend and keep the public "safe".

Imagine this woman cop in the video getting called to a street fight or an assault involving some guys. Whats she going to do when she gets there? Not shit besides call for MALE backup. Its really ridiculous.

I like how she keeps juicing him while ordering him to turn over, then juicing him more b/c is not capable of complying.....

I’d fire that fat bitch for being a fat, stupid, incompetent bitch; for not knowing how to respond; for having to look down and across her gut to reholster; for not seeing the punch; for not being able to kick that guy’s ass; and for juicing him to the point where he can sue the municipality b/c fat bitch was mad that fluffy landed a shot.

Good thing there wasn't a dog around for her to shoot....

Yea, I would say most cops in general are pretty timid unless it's a bullshit seatbelt stop or something. However, the one and only face to face interaction I have ever had with a female LEO was when they put up a new no right on red sign in my hometown, and she was waiting for it. I pulled into a parking lot because I didn't want her to get hit by a car or something and she totally flipped the fuck out. Hand on the gun, screaming at me, makeup cracking, and within two minutes there were five more cruisers around me. All male LEOs, go figure. I didn't have a CCP then, I have never been charged or convicted of anything, I thought I was even being nice. I had gone literally less than one block with my blinker on, lol. It was maybe 15 seconds from woop-woop to me pulling my parking brake.

I heard she does something else now, probably a janitor for a bubble wrap factory or something since that's about all she has the mettle for. I'll never get over how much makeup she wore, like she put it on with a Wagner power painter or something.

Good deeds do not pay in this life man. Look out for yourself and your loved ones first.

If the current models of Tasers don't have this function already, they should build em' with one. And especially include a setting where it can deliver ample power to just knock out a mofo. Unconscious. Just like the phaser in Star Trek or the 'ultrasonic paralyzers' used by the LE agents in H. Beam Piper's Paratime stories.

It is A LOT easier to cuff / transport a knocked out perp and cops don't have to wait for the EMT's to pull up with the syringe of butt juice. Not to mention, much more difficult for the SJW's to cry police brutality when there is almost no struggling and theatrics going on.

There is no setting to just nock a mofo out. It just doesn’t exist. Even if there was that setting, you’d find that one mofo who doesn’t go down. You never know if you’re going to get the response you’re looking for. Those two tasers that aj is holding, they pretty much cover the last 20 years of taser developement. The one with the two cartridges he’s holding, is a complicated device. It would be easier to train a person in firearms usage, that to use that taser X2.

I think it was Pmclain who mentioned it, but no, there is no limit to how long they can ride.

To whom ever else mentioned it, you don’t have to wait till the cycle is over. You can go hands on right away. Getting between the darts on the surface of the skin or over clothing is not the same as getting the darts yourself. You’ll likely feel nothing whatsoever, and even if you did, there wouldn’t be neuromuscular incapacitation.

Going hands on by yourself after a taser deployment is tricky, since you’re holding the taser(not hands free) and you don’t know how the bad guy is going to come out of it. You can “what if” that scenario for days.

99% of the time the bad guyis a bowl of jelly, and will do anything to not go through it again. It’s for that same reason that Officers are hesitant to go hands on during a cycle.

Taser doctrine has changed, like all force doctrine. It’s been litigated to death, and goes through constant revision, but that doesn’t mean that all departments are on the same page.

You can criticize her actions all you want, but you could easily find a male Officer that makes all the same mistakes. I’ve worked with a lot of female Officers. Some are shit, and some are shit hot, just like the boys. Fact of the matter is, these instances are the exceptional case, and only represent one portion of the job.

That is pretty much it. I was figuring that if there was a electric device that can work like a shot of sedative, right there on the field, they would have built them into the current models of Tasers already.

I have seen volunteer demonstrations of the civilian C-2 model Taser and as a neuromuscular disruptor, oh boy is it fuckin' effective. One big, MMA type guy got on the mat and prepared himself thoroughly. When that juice hit though, he managed to fight for just under one full second, before going down like a sack of potatoes. As pain compliance, it works wonders and most BG's, after trying to regain their breath, would not want a second cycle again.

I will revert back to this though: Even with better Tasers and training, I still think that there is no substitute for good old fashioned stick time. The baton applied to pain points on the limbs have handily taken down more perps non-lethally than anything else in the history of police-work.

If there is anything visible on the horizon pertaining to the future of the Taser, it is probably going to be the Electrolaser:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electrolaser

The mechanism behind it is pretty unique and the US Army is already testing a few prototype versions. Basically, a laser beam creates a channel of ionized air molecules leading to the target, and then a bolt of electricity is fired right down this beam. It is a Taser without the probes, wires and propellant mechanism. But the energy supply required to produce the ionizing channel over long distances is extremely demanding and currently, only vehicle mounted devices built for nonlethal crowd control have actually been field tested. Pretty cool stuff, and there are a lot of other potential for it too, like putting enemy missiles out of action before they even have the chance to launch.
