Arg, SD enacts constitutional carry. What the hell is TX waiting for?

Maybe I'm wrong but didn't Texas go from
Concealed Carry with a permit, Open Carry without
to
Open Carry IF you have a CC permit?
Sounds like they are headed in the wrong direction.
Could all the open carry AR's in the media been the driver for that?
and the new Florida laws seem to be going backwards.
Thumbs up to South Dakota.

I have a question on this great S.D. law.
Is this it?
Better copy http://sdlegislature.gov/Legislativ...B47P.htm&Session=2019&Version=Printed&Bill=47
Not being a lawyer or politician I'm not sure I understand what has changed.

OK, now I get it. S.D. was a commie state, now it isn't. Whodathunkit.
Look at the stuff deleted from the old law.
Now, you can get a permit if you want.
The issuance of a permit to carry a concealed pistol under this chapter, or the recognition of nonresident permits to carry a concealed pistol under § 23-7-7.4, does not impose a general prohibition on the carry of a pistol without a permit.

This section does not require a nonresident of this state who may lawfully possess a pistol to have a permit in order to carry a concealed pistol in this state.

how about if I told you this rule was made by democrat KKK members of the parties years ago to block black and messican from carrying weapons. Because thats where all these stupid fucking rules come from, fuck you all who advocate giving up your own rights, you are a danger to all men seeking to live free under our constitution.

It's interesting how few people especially "minorities" understand this.
Texas in specifically put the rather harsh restrictions on carrying pistols & knives into law right after the end of the civil war because they didn't want all these newly free slaves being able to defend themselves.

Nothing messes up your Democrats sitting piously in church on Sunday morning like having to have a funeral because the local Democrat KKK squad went to go lynch some no good dark skinned folk for being in the town after sundown and said lynchee pulled out a pistol and shot the would be lynchers... or showed them what a good 7 inches of steel feels like. Hence the gun laws.

Same pretty much everywhere, all the big cities on the east coast & west coast. They didn't want the local minorities being able to fight back effectively when the Democrat rulers and their oppressor police force wanted to put the boots to them.

The Democrats got scared back in the 50s and 60s with the civil rights movements when the local freedom champions of the minorities used to make sure their followers were well armed to dissuade those that wanted to lynch them..

People are always worried about the "criminals" having guns or the "irresponsible" people.
Well in some states, selling the ticket to Disneyworld that you couldn't use because something came up makes you a felon.... think about that!
Also criminals will always have the guns they want or the weapons they want. What stops them is the knowledge that all the rest of the citizens have guns and are ready to use them at a moment's notice.
And when it comes to "irresponsible" people... well let's look at the Police first before we worry about everybody else...

If everybody was required to carry arms with them at all times, I think after a short period of the idiots & criminals winding up dead, you would go back to having a very safe polite society. Much like the "wild west" was actually a lot less dangerous than many cities today, by actual crime statistics. If someone has paid for their crimes, who cares if they are one of everybody else carrying arms, the moment they step out of line, their intended "victim" or any other bystander can take care of business and then call the local law to write up the report and haul away the body.

Folks may like the results of forcing people to take a basic class, but the principle is unconstitutional. Incentives for taking the class are fine, but requirements and qualifications are tyranny all goddamn day.

Once again there is a simple solution to the issue but it is specifically blocked by the Communists / Democrats that don't want freedom.

Pretty much just about all the kids in the country go to school at one time or another in one form or another.
Make firearm safety and training a mandatory curriculum part much like PE used to be. Make it part of Grade school and high school both.

Also update the CMP to what it was supposed to be, training as many citizens as possible in the current military use weapons & keeping them proficient in arms with the current military issue weapons. Add that to your college courses as a required subject instead of "Social Justice" BS.

I don't have a problem with Texas ltc.
Whole family carries.

People from out of state seem to?
I don't like a lot of states rules I don't go there to spend my money.

Don't like your state's own laws, change them or leave.

Don't like Texas rules don't come.

You can cherry pick pretty much every other federal law except the Constitution and be a good state in my opinion, but on those points I'm telling Texas, or any other state where they are wrong. Flat wrong.

I don't believe in being fatalistic about my rights & freedoms. There are lots of laws in Texas that I don't like & so I work and pay those that work to have them changed.

A couple decades ago there was no legal carrying of pistols and even going to the range meant being careful.
Now everyone (legally allowed to own a gun) can carry in their cars concealed and it's easy & cheap to get a license to carry out of your car/home/business. Open carry just became an option if you want to because... freedom... (you still have to get a license).
I'm doing my best to support the groups that are pushing for full restoration of our constitutional rights to make constitutional carry the law in Texas.

Up until a few years ago the knife laws were stupid and something a democrat would have dreamed up.
Now I can carry most of my collection almost all the time.
I'm still going to be supporting & paying the groups working to get the last of the stupid location /length restrictions removed so that we have full freedom

Don't just accept the laws the way they are, change them for more freedom.
Our opponents are not standing still in any state, they are actively working & paying to destroy freedom
We need to get on the ball and get more freedom in every state.

@ArmyJerry
I see the problem now, you must have circumvented the dipping station when entering Texas.

Texas laws are improving there not perfect yet. Keep Republicans in office.

Ignorant, opinions vary.

You want to see sheep look elseware!

Sorry man, but the repubs here with Cruz and Abbot as the only exceptions are as bad as commie fuck LBJ types. Sadly. This state is a regulatory and fee structure nigtmare that rivals NY and Cali. Taxes here as a total of your living are bottom tier. This state will be democrat in the next two election cycles. The "Repubs" you speak of have not differentiated themselves at all, they want gun control, open borders just like the dems.

I grew up in tennessee. Back then, Hunter's Safety was part of Health Class which was required for graduation.

The path to the constitution has been slow in Texas but it is at least getting closer,
Not further away.
There are several states that have better gun laws and shooting opertunites.

I envy those items.

If I didn't mind the dip at the red river so much I would visit them.

If Austin and Dallas were not so full of pot smoking leftists we would already be there.
Edit: sory forgot Houston in the commie pile.

Unfortunately Fort Worth is rapidly going left as well.
Makes me sick!

Maybe I should move to South Dakota, so I can live like a Texan?
I'm gona have to import mesquite trees so I can BBQ ?

Had an old friend move there for some of the same reasons years ago.
