Curious and have a question on S&B PMII Scopes. More specifically the 5-25.

Reticle and other things aside. Are there any difference in glass quality from a let’s say 2007 scope vs new production? Just wondering.

Trying to see if there’s a diff to decide if I want to pay more for a new one or get another old one.

Speaking of old one, I have one from 2007. That’s why I’m wondering if new production ones with exact same spec are any diff.

So, my old one just came back from Factory to get specks inside the lense cleaned out. At the lowest magnification, when looking through, there’s a ring around the outer edge. You can see that the reticle on the outer edge is being covered up by this “ring”. Is this normal? I don’t remember seeing this before. Or did I just not pay attention. My other ffp scope don’t have this problem.

Any info here would be appreciated.

I've seen that before but not on that scope. It tunnels and the dark area increases but no light ring. Well I do not really think it's a problem as long as you do not shoot at that low mag setting for the most part...

Now if I guess it, they may cleaned up internal tube to the polish that actually reflects. Usually it's covered with grease stuff so not that reflective. I would not sweat...just shoot it and it something goes wrong work with SB, their service is pretty good.

They all "tunnel" from 5-7x, which is what is causing the ring, the year doesnt matter. Glass quality will be the same as well.

Yep. Normal for all 5-25 Schmidt.

Thanks for all the reply to my questions, fellas. Think I got the answer I needed.

I only own one S&B, so have nothing to compare it to. but do many Leupolds ✌️. However, depending on the application, S&B is def worth the extra $$$!
