This sure as hell isn't like the HS I went to. Students from Powell's school in Wyoming build U-boot VIIC in 1/8 scale

    Is it an American school?

Why not the Barb instead of an Unterseebooten?

    Im triggered by the hate.

By the way....is it full of Seamen?

Yes, refreshing to see not only this level of skill and craftsmanship, but also a memorial to politically incorrect history by displaying a Nazi sub in a school. Here is a pic from them building the sub, note the large mural in the background....and the elk antler coat rack on the far right...might have to move to Wyoming...and more antler's on top of the kiln against the left wall.

I think they're working on a Marine One helo project right now if I remember right.

Uboat tower needs 100% more broom.

Spectacular! I used to build 1/48th WWII aircraft. Researched them for everything from weathering patterns for specific AOs to markings for specific pilots for specific time periods.

Love to see people remember what brought us here.

My great uncle was lost SS211 his brother was on a surface ship at the same time. I never got to meet him (I wasn't born yet) they haven't found it yet. Every time I ifhear a WW2 sub is found I'm all ears. Look it up if you get bored interesting.

The only sub I had personal experience with was the USS Nautilus that I think I got with some cereal boxtops. You could remove the conning tower and put some baking soda in, replace the tower and put it into the bathtub. It would sink to the bottom, but pretty soon, the water reacted with the baking soda, it would bubble and soon, the sub would rise to the surface. Then it would sink and then the process would repeat until all the baking soda was gone. Best toy ever!!!

I read about that sub. It seems the Navy was satisfied to accept the expected track of the sub to have taken it somewhere north of the Marianas Islands. But, when someone went back and looked at the translation of the account of the attack the pilot (Japanese) gave, it would seem that it was south-east of Iwo Jima. More to follow on that, I hope.

Haven't been to the website for quite awhile. Seems some small detail is added. Still conflicting dates and areas I get it. I would have loved to talk to him he had a front row seat to history from Pearl harbor to battle of midway and god only knows. His name William Ankeny.
    Thanks for the post!
