Both are at the same price right now and thought I would ask opinions on which one. I can't make up my mind although I am leaning slightly towards the Athlon, but I don't have experience with either companies outside a Vortex red dot on an AR.
They both have the christmas tree reticle in MRAD that I want, albeit Athlon has 0.2 mil hash marks as compared to the 0.5 on the Vortex. Both have zero stops albeit the Vortex I believe makes use of shims and not a true zero stop. Vortex does have the no questions asked warranty while Athlon seems to have a good warranty, but not to the level of Vortex, I think. I do like the Athlon has the IR control on the side of the parallax unlike the Vortex.
Any recommendations between the two? It is going on an 6.5 Creedmoor gas gun with mix use (benchrest, some hunting). I was looking at the Vortex Viper PST Gen II but was hoping to save a little coin as a result of other expenses on the docket.
