Good morning gentlemen , Thought we might could get a new thread dedicated to proof carbon fiber barrel builds going . I am currently planning a new build that will be a mid weight do it all rifle with a proof barrel & probably a manners T3 . So send the pics and maby a small description. Thanks

Just finished 280ai....with Proof 24 inch Sendero contour..Dolled up Rem 700 action. is the poor mans custom compared to the guns listed above. Have same stock and 20 inch only in a short action that I am collecting parts for my 6.5 Creedmoore next build...

I would really, I mean REALLY like to try the 6.5 PRC. Still debating it or a 260 ai for the cheapskate in me at some point in the near future.

I'll try to find time to weigh it when I get in. It's light enough though without the weights in the hybrid chassis to take coyote hunting with ease.

I have a build due back to me in the next few weeks. Proof carbon barrelled version of my current 7mmSAW on a tempest action in a PRS2 stock etc. Ran with an 8.4 twist over an 8 for the carbon proof barrel on this build though.

The current build weighs just over 12lb so I’m interested to see what this one comes back at with the carbon barrel, 3-20x PM2 over the 5-25x and a DBM instead of the current mini chassis.

Are there any muzzle protector that matches the OD of proof barrel? I don't have a muzzle device on mine and use direct thread suppressor, want one that looks good when the can is off, all that I can find are too thin.

I got one from PVA that is very close to my Proof sendero profile. It's just a tad bit smaller. If I put the wrench flats next to the shoulder you can't tell it.

Not a Proof but a Hardy Carbon finished at 24.5"
Surgeon 591 in 6.5 Creed
Manners T5A Elite Carbon
Vortex Razor AMG
Total weight with bipod attached is about 13 pounds

Loved the look of Proof but couldn't get my hands on one when I built the rifle
Really need to get some better pics of my rifle one of these days.

I have a proof sitting in the safe waiting for a 7mmRM build. There doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of steel at the end of the barrel to thread for a removable brake/thread protector/suppressor.... am I wrong?

Can't say for sure , I took in on a trade last summer. It measure 23.5" from the lug face to the muzzle. No big deal , it sends 180 Hybrids at 2925 and the accuracy is ridiculous.
Well as fas as i know proof only makes their carbon into even numbers length..but measuring from lug isnt really the true length :)
Thread that goes inside the action still part of the barrel..make sense that probably 24"

You're most likely correct, it's my only Proof and I didn't spec the build . Either way I'm not disappointed with any aspect of the rifle .

Proof 22” 6.5cm 1:8 Insite Arms Brake. Marc @ Spartan Rifles Trued and spun up. T4A elite with Huber 2 stage trigger, Badger bottom metal, Henderson Precision Full length 1.5” Dive tail, carbon barrel channel.

Shot DRT approx 450y full run off RRS Tripod - not a shot I was comfortable taking my son wax’d it I think he said he lead 10 mills (but I don’t exactly remember).
