New Mexico bill banning personal gun sales starting in May

The law will close a loophole for firearms sales in New Mexico by requiring background checks to be conducted on people who want to purchase from vendors online, at gun shows and other venues (?) where sellers may not have a federal license.

well life with them seems like they gave a mile with the bump stocks, the AWB and many other things, now the enemies of the Constitution are taking a thousand miles and they NRA is trying to figure out how to make money off the "new" threat they helped put in place..

And life without the NRA is what? I can tell you, look at Australia, I came from there. (Yes I also below to GOA, SAF but am a life NRA member).

Same place they are for Illinois gun owners...
Missing in action.

Illinois residents can't blame the NRA for their woes, no more than residents of Detroit, DC, NY, or any of the other anti gun places. It's up to the residents of those places to vote out the gun grabbing politicians who make these laws. Vote for the right people, and these places can join the rest of the Freedom loving states overnight. It has to be done at the local level.

We are. It doesn't matter, Chicago runs the whole state.

So you have to change the politicians in Chicago. Voters in the rest of the state may not be able to vote in Chicago (unless they are dead democrats) but they can run friendly candidates and support them financially and with grass roots efforts. I'm sure there's plenty of slime that can be uncovered on those currently in office. It won't be easy, but it's the only way it will change. The rest of the state needs to pick good candidates from within those districts, then run and support them.

This bill also passed in VT... it has been 100 percent ignored. Some gun owners went to the steps of the statehouse.... and bought/sold guns with each other in full view...

It is a first step. Because "NOW" the commies are saying "well, this law is being ignored and the only way we can enforce it is if we have a database of who owns what so that we can TRACK transactions.

Really... This is Bloomberg's half-billion dollars being spent to buy legislators... combined with the left's need to disarm anyone who will oppose their takeover of America (See the Cortez thread.)

It looks like a joke until it is not.

I tell you, nothing in life baffles me so much as what the hell happened to the area of the country up around New England and the Upper East Coast. The very foundation of this nation, with state mottos like "Freedom and Unity", "Live Free or Die", "Liberty and Independence", "By the sword we seek peace, but peace only under liberty" are now a bastion of big government loving, anti Constitutional Rights liberals. (No offense if anyone here lives there, but c'mon, what the heck happened to the area... I mean, I get the left coast and all, but this is the cradle of Democracy) One of my ancestors was Isaac Davis, from Massachusetts, who was the 1st officer and one of the 1st killed at Concord Bridge. I fell quite certain he is rolling in his grave....

With all due respect you don't vote to keep or lose your rights because at that point your willing to give up your rights. We have become to civilized which is a detriment to our freedom. Imagine if our Forefather said " rush to the polls tonite and vote these British out" . No they knew to grab their muskets for that was the only way to remove anyone who was about to confiscate your arms.

There are more democratic liberals then conservatives so voting will never work which they know and why they leave the gates open for illegal aliens by the millions for more liberal votes. The liberals have you buffaloed by having you think you must pull a voting lever to save your rights when we should be pulling a trigger to preserve our rights.

The Second Amendment isn't for squirrels and such, Framers realized back then that it would be the only tool to keep the government under control and to preserve the Constitution.

In MA they were able to get a lot of shit passed by enlisting dealers/FFLs into their plan by making them an in state monopoly.

The money never fought shit like out of state ammunition buying because it ensured the population was a captive market to in state ammo dealers.

I hope the FFLs in states considering this shit dont take the selfish action of supporting this shit to increase sales short term while ensuring their destruction in the long run.

The fateful events of April 19th were more a result of errors than perhaps anything else.

A case of bad becoming a good.

Both sides never intended action that day. Likely the Patriots at Lexington would have dispersed had not a shot been fired.

Even in Concord there was "hesitation" and a sort of "unbelieving" how the events were unfolding.

Mistaking a smoky fire in Concord center, as viewed from the Patriot position at the Bridge, for total destruction of the town committed the Patriots to action.

Perhaps a teenage boy with a cruel heart had more to do with the founding of the country than anyone else.

As a British soldier lay dying at the Bridge a teen age boy coming upon him gave him a head blow with an ax "exposing his brains".

British troops earlier sent across the bridge and freely returning to the town center (the Patriots had not left a blocking force to decimate this body of infantry which kind of shows they were stumbling into war) saw the mutilated soldier and brought news back to their troops that the Patriots were scalping their dead.

From that moment on the war became mean and it was fully invested.

The identity of the young kid was known up until about the 30's among the old Concord families according to one author but his name has now been lost to history.

The Founding Fathers did just that, they voted to do exactly that, to kick the British out.....

Getting out the vote is not the same as giving up your rights. Getting out to vote is the best way to preserve our rights.

What's your plan B?

Myself and everyone I associate with has been voting as conservatively as possible at every opportunity since age 18. Myself and many others contact representatives by phone and send emails regularly, both the canned NRA/GOA/ISRA types and original messages.
Electoral maps show that we're not alone, and flyover country IL votes overwhelmingly red.

As a side note, understand that voting choices in IL typically range from a bad or ineffective candidate to a worse and openly corrupt candidate. There is rarely an actual good choice.

So back to your plan B, what do we IL subjects do? The only time I've been around to see a Republican governor in office absolutely nothing good came of it. All the voting/calling/emailing we can do is getting us nowhere, and us conservatives have families to feed and bills to pay so you're probably not gonna see us loitering around the capital by the thousands for days on end with picket signs.

This state is out of control and it's become pretty obvious that voting gets overridden by anything Chicago wants and I have no say in the matter.

See the above for reality.

The fault lies solely on the idiot voters who elect these tards in office. Say what you want about the NRA, but at least they are trying to slow down the idiocy.

Ex-fucking-actly....!

Make no mistake, we are losing this fight because of people sitting on their couch, eating Cheetos and talking about the revolution.....

Right now gun owners are buying Benchmade knives and while benchmade laughs at us. Why not just donate to these gun-grabbing anti-2A groups directly and cut out the middle man. Meanwhile Oregon is ground-zero for some of the most draconian laws proposed. I could go on.....but hey "buy ammo"!!!

I could offer that a movement to create electoral colleges in states would be a start. But, unfortunately, the commies will never let that happen.

But if we get a Constitutional do-over a-la 1865... instituting electoral colleges at the state level would prevent these hives of scum from running entire states from their urban crapholes.

In post SHTF America... I hope some of you consider this modest proposal!

Cheers,

So tell me this, im stationed at fort Carson, CO. Colorado is now not letting the electoral college do its job and will give its electoral votes to whoever they seem fit. So how does me voting for a republican work out when no matter how many votes go to the republican, they give the electoral votes to the democrat.

Voting has ceased to work at this point. Whats left now.....

What's YOUR plan B. I''m sticking with Plan A, until it is no longer viable. That doesn't mean just getting out and voting and donating, it means grass root efforts with like minded individuals first picking a viable candidate from the area, and getting out and knocking on doors. It also means filng lawsuits and challenging every Unconstitutional gun law passed by local governments, especially now that the Supremes are a Conservative majority (even though that shouldn't matter in theory, it obviously does)

There may be a time for Plan B, but trust me, Plan B will be a disaster of epic proportions.
