Same guys wear socks with sandals in the PNW

A few years back I was coming down Horse Shoes fall trail head in the Gorge on the Columbia River with my 2 year old son in a back pack, My 6 year old girl in my arms, two Labs on a lease and bunch of those types expected me to move off the trail so they could pass coming up. They said something under their voice to me and my Chocolate Lab wanted to eat them. They moved off pretty fast. A lot of them are a-holes

I always hike and camp alone. I've done many sections of the Ap Trail and other places and seen some strange folks. The strangest thing I ever saw was in the Smokies, way the hell out. I guy passes me going the other way gives me a heads up on what's ahead as I do for him and goes on. He had a skateboard lashed to his pack... I didn't find anything ahead he could have needed that for.
