Moore, ok
Just curious if anyone has any experience with one yet? I have a 4-16x56 coming from cameraland this week and hoping it will impress me. I got it for a combination hunting/long range rig.

Thanks in advance

I have a 4-16x50 pmii and it gathers so much light, that by the time you need illumination. It’s too dark to shoot anyway. It is also on a long range hunting rig. With 56mm and probably better glass than my 10+ or so year old model. You will be very happy without a doubt.

Yes, I'm sure this is a beautiful scope. I can really tell the difference in light gathering capabilities of my Premier 3-15x's vs my Premier 5-25x's... both of the 56mm 5-25x 's outperform both of the 50mm 3-15x's in low light situations, so much so that I have a strong preference for the 5-25x, even at the same mag range (10-15x for both).

Great example: I have a 650yd lane on my farm - FP in the woods on ridge, thru pastures and into TRP in the woods near river. It gets very misty down there and at 1930 hours or so, last light is fading fast. Target is a white 8" popper which we call "The Ghost"... because it looks like one in the mist. Anyway, it is so much easier to see and successfully engage with the 56mm scopes than the 50mm's.

For precision rifles that are used field conditions, I will not purchase another scope that doesn't have a 56mm objective lens.

I had a Premier 5-25x56 for a long time, it had spectacular glass! I then bought a minox zp5 5-25x56 and it is even better, especially in low light! I'm anxious to see how the ultra bright is, I'm hoping there is something different in the glass/coatings not just a larger objective lens. The waiting for the new toy is the hardest part!

I have the 4-16x56 Polar T96, with the p4f FFP reticle...which seems to be very similar to the ultrabright. I’ve had it for 2 years now, very happy with it all around. I use it for hunting & long range plinking, and it’s been a great scope so far...good tracking, excellent glass, color contrast and brightness are right there with my Swaro z8i.

Please report back, I have been looking at these for awhile. But as rlbreakfield said, not a whole lot of info out there on them. What reticle did you get?
Yes, please report back. I think a lot of users aren't 'low light' shooters so we aren't seeing many reports from the field on these big objective lens. However, I do quite a bit, just given my schedule and such, so I'm interested to hear how your experiences are with the Ultra Bright Schmidt.
