Rifle Scopes Scopes total elevation adjustment question? Help!

If a scopes total elevation adjustment states 30 mils. Will that mean 30 mils or close to that?

Midas Tac 4-16. Brand new from factory. I bottom it out then rotate. Only goes 25.9 mils. Is this normal? Is this an athlon thing?

Please explain. My Ares ETR was same way from factory. It was a few mils short of stated total elevation adjustment

The more important factor is when you mount it and zero your scope. Do you have it on a 20MOA rail or what? And then, you may loose more mils once you zero it...you could end up with 15-20 Mils of adjustment depending on your zero.

I don't know about the Chinese's attention to written detail.

But most scopes will have at least as much total travel as they list. Most a hair more. The only caveat on quality mfgs are the scopes that list total travel, but also show the usable adjustment range..

That’s what I was thinking as well. I could see the elevation adjustment being off +\- .5 mil from factory but not 4.1 mils.

That’s losing a lot of stated total.

I get all that, but if a company states 30 mil total adjustment. Why from factory does it only have 25.9?

Haven’t touched it. The way it came from factory. But it is flush with the center piece.

Well unloosen its three lock screws, spin it down all the way around (or just take it out entirely)and see if you have the full amount now

All the way out and I got 35.6 mils so I guess it’s right with a little over like most scopes come.

Ig just where the factory staked the ZS gave it the 25. We’re all good now.
