Hello all, i am looking for someone willing to rent a reamer to me, more specifically, my gunsmith (Hawk Hill) to chamber me a barrel.
I am in need of a .223 reamer that has at least a .90 freebore, and preferebly a .252 or .253 neck. The one they have on hand has a very short freebore.

Thanks!

Have Hawk Hill order the reamer with the specs you want and call it a day. No sense in trying to save money on such a trivial thing.

Or go find another 'Smith that has the reamer you want.

It sounds like all you need is to give them a throating reamer. You can pick one of those up for $70. The cost of renting and shipping each way you might as well buy a throating reamer and then sell it for $50-$60 once you are done or have HH keep it and subract it from your bill.

Thanks for the tip. I was able to find the correct reamer and get it to them. The reason I didn’t just buy said reamer outright is because everywhere I could find was an 8-12 week wait. I needed it finished much earlier than that. I know how hard it can be for some to imagine situations outside of their own perspective.
