I have a couple of the mini-actions, and REALLY like them a lot! One of them is in 7.62x39, and is an absolute giggle to shoot with a can on it, and the other has been rebarreled in .223 AI, and has me wondering why it took me so long to build a gun in this chambering.

The Oryx would be a great option for a 223 mini. Not so much for a Grendel,depending on use, since the chassis limits you to the factory 4 rd mag. Maybe MDT will fix that. *cough, cough @MDT_Josh *
Yea that's why I went with the b&c. Has a feeding issue like I said but that's ok for my needs. Perfect cheek weld too. Gonna throw a Leupold 2-7 on it for deer
I’ve tried quite a few powders with the Grendel and nothing has performed for me like the 8208 XBR has.
Yes, I am shooting a 20” barrel. I am getting a little over 2400 FPS out of 26.6 gr. I could actually get a lot more because the load is pretty mild but the accuracy was so great I decided to not push it any more. I only shoot that rifle out to 600-700 yards and the load has worked well for that. I’m guessing you may be able to get some more velocity out of CFE 223 but the only rifle I have really been happy with that powder in was 224 Valkyrie.
K thanks. I'm hoping to use it for what we call MOA matches at one of my local ranges. Moa size targets from 300 to 600 yards. No prizes so can't lose really. I have a rem 700 varmint in a krg bravo I can get 178gr amax to .5" at 100 and sd under 10 I'm mostly gonna use
I went to the range today with my Grendel. I did most of my shooting at 500-600 yards. Unfortunately that is all the local range has but I had a 5” plate and some bowling pens set up the Grendel was drilling them just as well as my Creedmoor. I had a 10-15 mph wind and it seemed like it couldn’t miss. Every time I shoot that rifle it amazes me.
After shooting a lot of 308 or 223 the heavier Grendel slugs cheat the wind so well it almost doesn't feel fair (esp in a mini length action!) -- great to hear you've having such a good time with it!
That's at 600 yards. Not full power. I do need a 20moa base and better rings. In this video it wasn't tight enough. Shooting my remaining cheap ppu.
Nosler's 129gr ABLRs work great in my AR, got two deer this last season.
