It used to be somewhat comical in the past, as it was 'once in a while' but nowadays it is almost continuous and "accepted norm".

I'm talking about "what does it take to create an actually viable law/mandate that there must be an intelligence level of (x?) to be eligible for a ballot" ?

I'm not suggesting that the voter base meet a certain level of intelligence before they're able to vote.... as that wouldn't go very well. But I am suggesting that if someone is going to be in a position of power, they need to have a 'certain level of smarts'.

I know I've had it with the "but the island might tip over" (Guam ?) to begin with, and then the rest is obviously downhill from there.

Sure, it makes for talking points on the mindless shows and tabloids, but in order to progress in life things actually have to get done. The other thread about the insinuation of the banning of skyscrapers (I truly hope that's satire) is beyond ridiculous.

And with the incessant droning of the "Side Show Clown" for over the past month..... there's gotta be something that can be done!

I'm talking about CREATING a bar, instead of just working in one. I'm talking about establishing a level of brains, as opposed to a 'dooming water level'.

    Thoughts?

The Founders have a fix for all that ails a free Union of States .

well, the dumber the population gets the quicker the dumbing down happens,, teh elite think they are immune,,, they have a rude awakening coming... everyone gets a vote you will average the average eventually.

but in order to progress in life things actually have to get done.
    You see that's the problem.
Too many people are sitting around on their ass doing nothing getting the handouts watching the tabloid TV.
Generations have been raised understanding it's an honor to get the handicap placard, Medicaid and wait for others to do the work.

But then they can just say "the results are in. Candidate A (of A and B), a fine servant of hours, no hard feelings to B who has also done good by us, has won the uhlection. Status quo wins again! "

    Oh, wait...

The real trouble they'll run into is the same shit we're starting to see with shit failing, exploding, bridges falling apart and killing sla... tax payers, etc etc... some shit still requires some thought and talent.

I want to see a political draft that all people over 35 have to sign up for.

That way special interests can't buy candidates and the IQ level should go up to average instead of the group of retards we have now.

Way too late to fix the issue, perhaps something you could bring up when rebuilding civilization after a good pounding back into the stone age from some asteroids.

That's about the only way you'll get a change. We are long past the tipping point of no return. Currently it's just a game of slowing the out of control train a little bit to delay the crash at the bottom.
