Anyone ever mount a Kowa spotter on an RRS Anvil 30. I have looked at the plates on my Kowa and not sure that any of the available plates that RRS offers will work properly. There is a hole adjacent to the 1/4" mounting hole for a safety pin. The head I have on my portable trip[od has a pin that goes into that hole.

    Any help would be appreciated

Almost any of the RRS lens plates will work. You just want a flat anti-twist ridge at the back of the spotting scope mounting collar, then however much length you need. Likely one of the shorter ones will work better. Look at something like the L85 lens plate.

there are a ton of mounts available,

I don't see how a Kowa would be any different, I use a couple of different versions for the various spotters

I was unsure because the safety pin holes on all of the RRS plates are to the left of the slot for the 1/4" mounting bolt so I thought I would ask. Thanks for responding Frank

My Kowa TSN-820 has a standard 1/4x20 thread mount and the pin is just there to prevent rotation of the place. However some of the newer Kowas have a 3/8" threaded hole with an insert to also work with 1/4x20 threads. If you have the choice, the 3/8" mount is stronger and more rigid.
The RRS website is a little confusing but I'm pretty sure the B76 plate would work, the flange on the end of the plate acts as an anti rotation device.

Or if your scope has a 3/8" mount the RRS B22 plate will work:

If you're not set on using an RRS plate, you could use any number of Arca Swiss camera tripod plates. And if you have to have the anti rotation pin, I'd call RRS and see if the B26 plate will work:

As said multiple times up top we should have something that will work for you. Give me a call, please know your model number and I will try and help you out. One thing I havent attached are the Kowa "god eyes" binos. They have a unique mounting interface.

As @m1match mentioned those are the ones I will probably look at first but primarily the B26, it was designed for the camcorder standard pin.

That is the layout on my Kowa!! I would assume that the pin to screw distance is a standard distance?

    Model number is TSN-82SV
