I used to be more involved on this forum around 2011. I purchased a Mega Arms billet lower 4-5 years ago thinking that I would eventually get the MKM extended rifle length upper to match. Now I'm starting to get interested again and I see that Mega Arms has been bought out and my beloved upper is discontinued. So now I need help either locating the upper or some suggestions on another brand that sells something similar. I'm looking at Seekins, but please make additional recommendations.

SLR Rifleworks makes some extremely top notch sets.

+1 for SLR. They are very very good. They have 0 slop or play between them. Fit and finish is best I have seen. The nicest stripped receiver set that is readily available right now IMO. I've never had a maten, but they are also very difficult to find now.

Allow me to clarify. What I'm seeking is a manufacturer that makes an upper that is monolithic or 2 piece (e.g. Mega Arms MKM/Seekins SP3RV3) with a matching lower. Not to discredit the aforementioned examples, but I want the handguard, upper, and lower to match.

SLR makes all those as well as gas blocks, gas tubes, and BCG’s. Good thing about SLR are their hand guards. They makes different lengths for just about any setup.

Alright crew,

I was able to locate an MKM upper. It was advertised as Extended Rifle Length (14") but the seller has since contacted me saying it is a 12" rail with 13 slots so I know now it's Rifle Length. I don't have any concrete plans for this build, but I was hoping for some guidance. Any pics or links would surely help.

If I decide to run a rifle length gas system, will the gas block be shrouded by the handguard?

What would you do in this situation?

Should I settle or hold out in hopes of finding what I want in the secondary market?
