Rebarreling a Cadex Guardian

Im playing with the idea on jumping on the cadex train while the AXSR hard inquiry comes along with either a Guardian or a Field complete gun but im not up to speed on their barrel game.

I thinking 6.5 just for the off the shelf ammo availability so say i shoot out the barrel one year in or so, whats the deal on getting new barrels for the non QD models?

Do i have to sent it to Canada or are there guys working on them state side and its a simple ship and wait?

Seeing as Mile High is a dealer for Cadex, I imagine their gunsmiths can spin up a barrel for those rifles.

Mile High is no longer a dealer for Cadex, from what I know. They, along with any other Smith, should be able to spin a barrel for the Guardian action. Cadex may have the actions documented and able to send you a new barrel specific to your rifle, but the price I got from Cadex for a barrel was just north of $1300 before shipping.

Thats on top of the fact that there are customs hoops to jump thu.

If this info is accurate ill stick with AI and do the cadex chassis thing with a WTO or a TL3 down the line

@DAVETOOLEY spun me up a proof for my Cadex. I don't see any difference with having other action and having a smith spin it up for you.

Yes they are expensive from them... But they are machine spun up to exact tolerances with Bartlein blanks. I was told by Cadex that the actions are all machined to a very specific tolerance and its essentially a prefit barrel shipped to you. So the guy on the phone said from Cadex.. Dont need the action in hand.

I’m looking to head up to MHSA this weekend to check out a lighter profile, possibly a proof. The factory barrels are very nice, but a pretty heavy profile. Shoots sub 1/2 moa though.

Yup, up north near Erie. Haven’t been out much since living here, but I’ll hit you up through the site if I’m going to be down south at all. Looking to take one of Mike and Franks classes this fall.
