Give me a modern day example of being far right. I keep hearing progressives say that ( not necessarily meaning you) and have no freaking clue what they mean.
What people consider being center is too damn left leaning to me.
I, personally, am very careful about where I place myself amongst that spectrum.
Right off Id say the group that was responsible for Kennedy's assassination. The whole Military Industrial Complex. They dont give a fuck about America, or our freedoms, they only care about ripping and raping for profit. Throw in all the puppet governments that were set up in many countries, especially Central America. They didnt give a flying fuck about the people of those countries, they put in abusive tyrants to serve their own purposes.
I dont know your age, or if you will remember the ones who were way into religion and vying for power in the 80's, the Moral Majority, and their ilk. Had they come into power we would be living in a different country, likely not unlike the Fundamentalist Islamics. Women having to have their heads covered, dresses to the ankles. If you didnt agree with their theology you would be at least shunned, probably persecuted.
Power, right or left, is, or can easily become, a disease. Lord Acton spoke eloquently of that very thing:
"Power tends to corrupt. Absolute power corrupts absolutely."
And of course one very close to my heart:
"Knowledge may be power, but power without wisdom is folly." Maggot
