I listened to the recordings. I think they did a good job getting the suspect contained. This department didn't dick around outside. In fact, they were calm and collected diverting resources to a vehicle accident, domestic violence call, and a false report of someone lying dead in a nearby parking lot. They seemed to have a problem deciding which way was east. Southern people are like that. "Is that the side facing the courthouse?"

I live in California, DONT tell me nobody is coming for our guns. Because they are. And its 100% political agenda.

Most of the comments are sarcasm. Sarcarsm at the facts that Law abiding gun owners are not the ones commiting these crimes yet we are demonized in the media for political purpose to motivate the sheeople out of fear to vote in a way that further erodes our liberties.

Were not causing a divide, simply watching it and commenting.

One might hold the position that just because something despicable and evil is predictable does not mean that it should be taken without a modicum of outrage.

@2aBaCa Amen. I grew up in a liberal state and fled that tyrannical crap as soon as I could. They absolutely want all of our guns. I don’t see how that is even in debate at this point. The only debate is how fast they will try to move.

Most gun owners are not like us on this board. If they pass a law outlawing certain platforms most people I'm sad to say will just turn them in. So to that extent @M8541Reaper is right. They won't have to come take our guns because most people will voluntarily just give them up. And if this country goes into the throes of a civil war our enemies will exploit it and could possibly destroy our nation. With that in mind I suggest you buy MORE ammo!

The part that isn't being dicussed is how do you stop a motivated perp with mostly no prior record?
What has lead these folks to believe this the only solution?
Is evil an inherent part of human nature?
Who has really created the divide in society?
You've mentioned the effects but not the main driving force.
Money is but a tool to achieve what?

In this case I think the motive may have been more simple. Apparently he had just been fired so likely his finances took a hit. The other side could be just the ego hit of being fired got in there, festered and exploded.

Ignorance of unlimited universal supply (some might say 'of God's bounty' but I prefer to de mystify it) leads to fear for survival.

Fear leads to all sorts of negative manifestations...greed, anger, and the like. We all share that to some extent its just that some deal with it in a more positive fashion.

Don't anyone even THINK of expanding into a 'more than' two party system. The absolute LAST thing you want is a Minority government. Second to that, you don't want your voting pool divided in half from the get-go.

Think about it, and smarten up. :(

I grew up in this area...He was from Newport News. Makes sense, where I grew up (Hampton, Phoebus specifically) it was pretty ghetto. Not surprising that someone went off the deep end. Why folks stay there, I (and many of my high school friends) will never understand. There's some good people, but largely, it's a rough, ghetto, economically depressed area, that reeks of desperation.

When people live pay check to pay check, in an area that is starved for jobs (even with the shipyards nearby), people just snap when shit in their lives go south (or end up addicted to drugs). And so the vicious cycle continues...
