Not sure why my original post disappeared.. I'll try it again.

Combat Veteran of the Iraq war. I am also an avid shooter and reloader. I have shot and reloaded tens of thousands of rounds but have only limited experience in long range shooting and reloading.

I'm currently using a DPMS LR308 w/18"SASS 1:10, 175g SMK and 178g AMAX to get started and have had really good luck out to 800 meters but it significantly drops off after that.

I have come to really enjoy long range shooting/reloading and all of the technical stuff that goes along with it. The math, physics..etc. I've recently discovered the books by Bryan Litz:

Applied Ballistics For Long Range Shooting
Accuracy and Precision For Long Range Shooting
Modern Advancements in Long Range Shooting

I have no doubt that these books are way above my skill level but, like I said, I love the technical stuff.
I recently moved from Arizona to Indiana and my LR availability has become scarce but I'm still looking..
I'm hoping to move back to Arizona in a couple of years and hopefully by then I'll be ready to move on to ELR!

Thanks for having me here and I look forward to getting to know people and learning as much as possible!
