Aero precision m5 mags?

Hello everyone,

I have been lurking for awhile now and built a few nice shooters using the wealth of info on here but I’m having a problem with my new build.

As of right now I’m just getting started with this one, parts I have so far are below with my question following.

Aero precision m5 upper and lower combo
Proof research 22” stainless barrel with there camgas setup (6.5 cm)
Rise RA-140 sst trigger
Prs gen3
M5 lpk
Battle arms development bcg
JP MK 3 handgaurd
Slr adjustable gas block incase the camgas setup still over gases the gun.

My main question is which mags work with the m5 lower? I have been doing some reading and I was liking the asc mag cause of the extra col I could run but reading on the primary arms site they mention that the mags are not compatible with the m5 lower. Is there any other mags that I can run a longer col in that has been proven to work in the m5 setup? It will be a bench gun so I’m looking to run a 5 or 10rd mag.

If anyone has any other info or suggestions on anything with my setup I open to any info I can get.

Those mags should not be a problem at all with your lower. I have a couple and they work well with my M5.

Hmm I just got done reading a review that said the asc mags work fine in the m5 lower as well, primary arms must have messed up when they said it didn’t work.

I will order 1 for now to give it a try... thank you for the help!

Buy 1 and give it a try in your lower. Works great in mine but has feed issues in a buddies DPMS.

I have only run P-Mag in my Aero, every capacity, and they all work great for me

I have run ASC SS mags solely in Aero M5 and MEGA lowers along with KAC and Larue. They all run flawless. 100%

PMAGS have super short COAL for those hand loading 6.5cm. They are fine for factory ammo.

Good point. I missed the 6.5 part, my M5 is a .308. You also had good information in someone else's thread about ar10 mags. I will be trying the ASC as a result. thank you
