Rifle Scopes 50% off a Minox scope with purchase of a M18 rifle at EO

From what I’ve seen the Sauer 101 and Mauser m12s however have pressed in barrels vs threaded.... which I’m not in love with as if I keep mine it will be threaded for a can.
Hmm. I'd want to have barrel threaded as well. I've seen conflicting info though as both this and this indicate the Sauer 100 barrels are threaded and not press fit. May have to call EO tomorrow.

I might just have to pick up the 7mm mag or the 6.5PRC for fun and get the ZP8 with MR10+ that I always wanted but it's not avail on the minox site. Only the 3-15 and 5-25 are available.

I received my Mauser Tuesday and filled out the application online. Recieved code Wednesday and ordered scope Wednesday. Got shipping confirmation Wednesday afternoon. Be here tomorrow.

Damn...that was fast. My rifle arrived at my ffl today. Will pick it up tomorrow.

Wow I submitted my order Tuesday morning and still am “processing”

Minox still has 34 zp5 mr4 instock, if you can take the photo of m18 box to redeem the code, do it ASAP. You can even ask EO to send you the photo before they ship the gun to your FFL....

I asked EO to send me a pic of the box but they said they were unable to.

Lol, I wish I would have thought to ask them about that

Which rifles are folks getting? Or is everyone just getting them for the scope discount? Curious to see how they shoot.

I was surprised. I expected to wait at least some of the 8-12 weeks they mentioned.
Apparently something just got mixed up and didn’t update to shipped. I called last night and left a message asking the usual processing time and this morning got an email that scope was shipped Wednesday (ordered Tuesday) with my tracking.

My guess is the 8-12 weeks is in case an item is out of stock, that is probably how long it takes to get something from Germany

Picked up my 6.5 prc. I have to admit at first blush it appears to be a pretty decent rifle.

I was all set to jump on this, as I've been eyeing the ZP5 for a while, and who doesn't mind an extra rifle, right?

Unfortunately, I'm in California, land of the weird.

My local FFL shut down at the beginning of the year, and the next closest one is being weird and just being generally unpleasant to deal with. Extra documentation, refuses to use email, etc. It's almost like they suddenly don't want my business, even though I've been buying about $1000 worth of ammo from them each month for the last 3 years.

And then to top it off, my brother and his wife got mugged yesterday too, so now the money I was going to use for this rifle and the scope need to go to helping out the family in the meantime.

Just want to say, to everyone who manages to take advantage of this deal, I envy you guys so much right now.

Give it a few months and you’ll be able to grab a like new one from someone for what will still be a good deal

Anyone know the total adjustment range. I want to be able to use the whole 28 mils. Ive heard somewhere that sometimes at the top the turret will continue to click without any actual adjustment being obtained. Any insight on that?

Which scope are you referring to? Minox zp5 5-25x56? That scope has 28 mil of total elevation, from top to bottom. Meaning in an ideal situation your scope mounted to a 0 MOA rail your zero would be dead center of the scope giving you 14 mil of travel in both directions. To be able to use the entire 28 mil in one direction (up) you would need to mount it with roughly 40+ moa built into the rings/base.

If you have a scope that you twist the turret and the reticle doesn't move, throw that scope in the trash and try again.

Thanks. That seems correct to me.

How is the turret on the new zp5? I heard they had issues on them.
They are not the best and not the worst. Are you a turret purest - meaning that click and feel of turrets trump most everything else? For me it’s more a question of can I accurately dial what I need to dial with distinct clicks and the ZP5 can do that all day. What most have complained about is the 1st to 2nd rev tension and that is something Minox cleaned up in later versions, some even say they made the clicks better. I will say this, I have the 5-25x56 and a friend has the 3-15x50 that is newer and I think the new 3-15 has even more distinct clicks than my 5-25. It could just be the difference between the two models, but I’ll have to compare to another new 5-25 to be sure.

I recently picked up two ZP5’s from @jwknutson17, a 525 MR4 and 315 MR2. The 315 does exactly what you describe as continuing to click past the end of actual adjustment. It returns to zero perfectly every time and his other 315’s do it as well so I’m not the least bit concerned. The 525 does not do this. It hits a hard stop at the end of travel. Turrets on both are excellent. Oddly, the 315 has 26.8 mils useable in a 0 moa Spuhr on a 20 moa rail AI AT 260 using Prime.

Anyone able to measure the outer objective bell diameter? Trying to figure out what size rings I need, and I can't find the number.( Not 56mm..)
Thanks

By saying “not 56mm” are you inferring you’d like the outer diameter of the 3-15x50?

No, not really. What I meant was I need the outside diameter of the bell of the scope and not the objective lens dimension, (ie: 56mm in this case.)

I submitted my invoice and photo of the box on Friday afternoon and received the code this morning. I sold the rifle over the weekend for $300 (paid $470 shipped). I'm in the ZP5 for $1900.

Sweet!!! I paid $2560 for mine last year with a military discount and was peeing myself. That’s a smoking deal.

For those that care, scope is 37.2 ounces with caps

Also for those that care, bolt after 1500ish cycles. This is how I normally break in a factory rifle bolt, just lite oil and elbow grease, at least 250 a day. Zipper sound is almost totally gone, bolt is slick. 60 degree bolt lift is still a bit heavy, but overall a good feeling action now.

Hold on I’ll upload a YouTube video. To me, very good. Very sharp, and audible. There is a touch of wiggle room if you try for there to be, but it’s easy to tell what graduation you aren’t on. I like them. Second revolution stiff spot is still there but really not very difficult to click through.

Most of my LR/shooting revolves around hunting so I can’t compare it to other alpha level tactical scopes.

That is caused by the lubrication on the second revolution indicator mechanism. The manual has images of how it works.

If you spin it hard/fast through it jumps.

Nice easy turn you can get the .1 mils easily. The video isn't a good represention of the second rev.

I've had 8 of them and the second rev stiffness is a feature and supposed to be there. It's a non issue. I dial Right in the middle of the "hard" spot to the .1 without issues.

My wife said the same thing, I told her saving $1500 does that to me.
I really need to watch my choice of words on this site ?
