FYI, PSA Gen III PA10 / PA65 coming soon.

Will they finally ship them with the correct spring and buffer? I need to get a hold of them and have them send me those2 items. Other than that I like mine.

FWIW... they have ( as per the video ) standardized on the AR15 carbine buffer tube and a short .308 carbine buffer.

Did yours come with swapped carbine pattern parts ?

And frankly, the click Adj. GB will make it far easier to tune for the buffer weight.

A large frame AR platform rifle is not the type of thing I want to buy from a company that’s only innovation to the market is rock bottom pricing.

Good luck!

To each his own.

I have had quite a bit of success with all my Large Frame PSA's.

I have had quite a bit of success with all my Large Frame PSA's.

I made a mistake. I didn’t come here to rain on a parade. I should’ve thrown data in the mix and made myself useful.

In short, it takes a lot to get a large frame AR to run right under all conditions accurately. It’s not the same as throwing together an AR15.

I’m sure they work on a clean, dry, square range properly lubricated with good ammunition in fair weather without a suppressor. Start changing those variables and I’d be really curious to see what happens to “quite a bit of success”.

It’s almost 2020. Every single person reading this should absolutely expect 100% reliability from every firearm they purchase.

The days of filing feed lips to get Century CETME’s to run at all are over, but some of these budget AR10 companies are trying to bring them back in a hurry.

Mine came with the PA10 carbine buffer tube but a 15 spring and buffer were in it. I could stack 2-3 quarters in it and be good but I’d rather have the correct parts.

I hear what you are saying.

I watched quite a few reviews on large frame AR's the other day.. 4 out of 5 of the various brand Large frame AR's had issues in the video's.

Admittedly, I haven't taken mine out and rolled them in the mud, but for a inexpensive bench gun , it just keeps putting them where I want. I am quite happy with where I spent my money.

I will say I am pretty lackadaisical when it comes to keeping any of my AR's actions clean... adding lube rather then tearing down for a thorough cleaning.

Grudgingly...for the various brand barrels to produce their best precision ( all in PSA uppers and lowers ) they prefer to be freshly cleaned. ( I am talking the bullets touching groups )

Frankly, I am not "Tier One" and really don't have to rely on my firearm to save my ( and Others ) lives on a routine basis.

So I guess I can live with it being Sub-Tier 1 ... Lol

I am a tinkerer, and while the PSA's are not perfect, nothing about them was issue enough to cause me to be unable to "clean it" up.
FWIW, I don't have function issues at all with mine.. , and again it may be a result of some the tinkering .. but maybe not.

And given the cost point, my PSA's allowed me to tune / assemble mine the way I wanted.

I realize others have had issues, so consider mine to be an example of 9 PA10 / PA65's....out of God knows how many sold.

I also realize many people don't want to tinker with their new out of the box firearm.
That is also a reasonable expectation... and PSA offers a Lifetime Warranty

That said, everyone can spend their money how they see fit.

The main reason I bought PSA's is the price point... and to be clear , I have yet to see PSA claim the PA10 / PA65's are the perfect Large Frame AR... but I knew that going in.
( And again, I'm not Tier 1 either.. Lol )

IMHO, and especially given the lack of any form of "Mil-Spec" guidelines, It isn't much of a surprise to see various brand Large Frame AR's have quirks.

Even the wrong buffer in the wrong buffer tube ( I know RE .. ) , while frustrating ( And gopherslayer isn't the only person with that PSA issue , so certainly not singling you out ) happens more often then I'd bet even PSA likes ( hence the now standardizing on 1carbine buffer size )

I am not here to defend PSA decision's ... but I do enjoy my PA10 / PA65's, and enjoy helping others with theirs.

And if I see improvements, I enjoy showing them to all the other Sub Tier 1 ( Lol ), bargain budget minded 308 / 6.5CM shooters.

My PSA's have proven to b capable of reasonable precision, with some of them being shockingly precise.

My first 6.5CM PSA PA65 GII, was Sub-MOA, with 5 factory rds.. after the lapping and Loctiting in the barrel many more factory rounds were then Sub-MOA. ( at least 6 more factory rounds )
Is it a Sub-MOA all day long rifle, maybe, maybe not... but it is capable of it.... Provided I do my part.

For me and my shooting needs, that is very satisfying.

And to have a Sub-MOA Large Frame AR available for a working mans price, will appeal to me much more then a $2000+ model that isn't built with the parts I want to use.

That is what I meant for my "To each his own" comment.

I have lot of PSA gear but my PA10 (gen 2) was my least favorite and I ended up selling it. Once the price settles I might give a Gen 3 a try but I would not buy one for at least 3 months + post release. PSA in general has teething issues, which they always work out, but it takes time.

Ill wait for the Gen 3.5 and then its likely good to go.

I just watched the video. Definitely an improvement.

PSA is great about listening to the community and always making improvements to their design. I am cautiously optimistic about the PSA MP5 slated for Q4. Although I may break down and just buy a Scorpion...
