Rimfire Rifle Photos Thread

Yea it shot really good. I really didnt notice any improvement in accuracy. Where I noticed the real improvements was in fit and function, and that helpped me shoot a little better with the Boyds stock. I also have a Mark II F that I got from Walmart for $140 that shoots every bit as good. That is the one my son uses when we go shooting together.

I had a Savage FV SR and it was amazingly accurate with ammo it liked for a $275 rifle. That was never where I had the issue with it. It shot great for awhile and then I stared having all kinds of reliability issues with it. The magazine would malfunction, it wouldn’t extract and so on. I would fix one issue and another would pop up always in the middle of a match of course. It could never just happen while I was at the range. I finally just threw in the towel and bought a Tikka for competition. I still have the Savage in a Boyd’s Tacticool stock that I keep as a loaner. It is running smooth for now. Hopefully it will stay that way since it doesn’t get shot that much. One thing I can say about every Savage I have owned over the years is they have all be tack drivers.

Here's my CZ 455 VPT with a Vortex HS-T 4-16. Targets were about 40 yds. with SK standard +. My bolt is mailed out to The Polished Knob right now to get a new handle.

I thought that looked too smooth (no metallic flake) to be burnt bronze, but wasn't going to bet any money on my opinion either. That's another thing I like about sniper gray - it goes on really smooth & always seems to wind up with a very consistent satin finish. In case you haven't figured it out yet, sniper gray is one of my favorites in the CeraKote line...

Thx for that. Im thinking I dont want to be subtle here. :)

What Athlon? How do you like it ?
Ares ETR 4.5-30x56 MOA, for the price it's very good IMO. Shooting 200yd bench competition I still needed a spotting scope and much better than the 20-60x80 scope I had. So I bought a Trijicon 5-50x56 for the Vudoo which allows me to see impacts unless the mirage is heavy. Just finished installing the ETR on my new Tikka T3x Varmint in .223.

Ive also been thinking about using same brand / model scope on all 3 rifles - 22rf / 224V / 6.5 CM.

Thank you. It set me back quite a bit - $880.00 as pictured, but I also have a Larue LT690 F.U.G. and a Larue LT706+ Harris BRM-S Combo for it, as well as a Magpul UBR and a Full MIAD to go on a lower to mimick my LWRC M6A2-S upper on my Pre-Ban lower. I just need a stripped lower and an AR Gold Trigger and I can complete my AR22 project. I just don't have a second ACOG TA11...

My 22 benchrest rifle. I shoot the william buck memorial postal league, and central indiana high power rifle shooters rimfire f class postal league with it.

Hall rblp action, shilen barrel, shilen trigger, harrell tuner, McMillan stock, waiting on 24 moa bkl base rings combo, and a weaver t36. Currently has bkl rings and a mueller 40x56 target dot scope that has major paralax to focus issue. Preparing to send it in for service. This rifle was built by Ed Shilen for his wife Charlene who shot it in comp up into her 80s. It is a shooter.

Also have a savage mark ii in bedded in a richards microfit 3" forearm stock, athlon argos btr 8-34×56 glass, and "accurizing package" by scott null of savagegunsmithing.com. I'm not real please with the accuracy it has.

Blue rifle is hall, red and blue is savage.

I had a buddy of mine Bc'z over at accurateshooter.com redo the stock on my hall action rifle. It is quite the looker now. He made it look like there is water droplets on it.

Cliff Arnold who make one piece rest lives within a couple hours of me, at a local ARA match he let me try one, needless to say he is making me one.
Last pic is of one of his rest, not mine, mine will not have all the anodizing and cost much less.
