Rifle Scopes Scope Bell taping... something else?

Hey so i want to avoid barricade rash on the scope if i can help it and im looking for options on which scope tape or tape in general is the best for protecting the scope.

Just get some Coflex type wrap, sometimes called Vet wrap. It won't leave any residue and holds up pretty well.

The Cramer "tape" is really good for this. No real adhesive and only sticks to itself.

You can find it at Ag stores for $2-$3 a roll.

Or just throw a beer coozie over then end. A little more padding than cramer tape

Vet tape works or I’ve some guns use “gun tape” as well.

The coban works awesome (pic above shows it). The key is not to wrap too tight. If you wrap really tight over time as it gets weathered it can leave a residue that's hard to remove.

10 pack for about 10 bucks. I have wrapped several scopes multiple times with a single 10 pack and I have plenty more. It's cheap enough that when it gets funky from the sun or whatever, I just replace it.

It also works well for "taping" on Vortex Defender scope caps that don't like to stay in place. Little bit of this stuff around them and they don't move at all.
