Anyone else had this problem with their kestrel 5700

So I was trying a new load today chrono’d a few rounds zero’d it took it out to the range started out at 1000yrds and noticed the kestrel was calling for waaay to much elevation so I go into the settings (this is a 215gr Berger hybrid with G7 of .354 G1 of .691) and for some reason any time I enter the G7 when I upload the profile it switches to G1 by itself but keeps the .354 every time and only with this particular bullet I don’t get it lol

Ya, I’ve had a similar issue. Transfer everything to your Kestrel, remove the app, and reinstall the app. Transfer everything back over. Should fix you right up.

BTW, why not use the custom drag curve?

Awesome I’ll give that a try! And I’m not sure always had pretty good results with G7 have never tried custom drag curve do you get better results?

I think so but try it for yourself. Set up a profile for a G1, G7, and AB Custom and see which one works best for you.

Custom drag curve is the way to go..ive found that my solution is far more accurate

If you are using Hornady 6.5 cm 140 gr eld match, should you select 4DOR for input to Kestrel/Hornady 5700 as opposed to G1 or G7?

I suggest always selecting 4DOF over G1 or G7, if available. The 4DOF library contains the rounds that have been radar tested. G1 and G7 are pre 4DOF estimations of bullet efficiency.
