I am planning to shoot my AIAX 308 in F Class tactical next summer. I’m looking for opinions on a bi-pod and barrel upgrade? (Currently have an Atlas bi-pod, and stock 20” suppressed AI barrel (for PRS). Anyone shooting F Class?

Twitchy... thanks for your note and guidance... I tried searching on F Class but the engine threw back the “F”... let me hunt for the forum sub section - thanks!I do, but we don't have a "tactical" class. We have F-Open and F-TR (Target Rifle).
Any bipod and barrel will work until you figure out if you're in it for more than a match. Check out the other TR shooter's bipods. It ranges from Harris to something like a Joypod.
FYI, there is an F-Class section a bit further down in the forum.
You can get by with the Atlas to start, but will have improved stability with something like the Phoenix Precision F-Class Bipod if its something you decide to stick with.

Gunfighter... good stuff...I’m afraid I’m at the 18lb (17.8) limit I’m going to need to put her on a diet (swap barrels to Proof carbon (26”?)... drop the RRS mount, drop the muzzle break... it’s going to be close. ?
let me hunt for the forum sub section - thanks!
NRA Mid-Range & Long Range (Prone) F-Tactical (F/TA) PROVISIONAL
basically take your PRS gun as is and shoot f class
noAs long as your PRS gun is an AR platform.
It does open up the stage to AR shooters now.
Page 74, rule 3.3.3 (h) No brakes or suppressors either.
F/TA is not AR Tactical
It's provisionalThat would be cool if they open it up to tactical F-class rifles and get more participation.
Read the thread before posting dude. Here we have a tactical class. It is for 223 and 308 with a bipod and rear bag. You will more than likely not be shooting against guys running tricked out rifles with 30” barrels in your class. You see those guys in open class shooting the 6.5’s and 6mm rifles. You will have to drop the muzzle break. They are very strict about that rule here. I would guess you will see the same at other matches across the country.
Here is my take on this. I shot a grand total of one F class match. I showed up with a pretty basic 308 with a Harris bipod and a sock full of rice for a rear bag. I shot pretty well but laying in the 100 degree sun and shooting a 20 shot string three times just wasn’t for me. After shooting PRS I think you may not find F Class all that much fun. I guess my point is you should probably shoot a match before you start dropping money on gear. You very well may find that it isn’t for you and you don’t want to have a whole bunch of money invested if it isn’t.
