I got mine in the mail a couple days ago. It's very well built, seems easy to use. I plan to set it up on my bench tomorrow and use it a couple times. I'll report back when I get it set up.

I’ve used a Tubb & Viper (same thing) for 3-4 years and probably 200 barrels off/on. Pretty much a 4-bolt version of the Bald Eagle w/o springs.

They will leave aluminum on your barrel so use newspaper, printer paper, leather or whatever if it’s a concern.

Clamp close to the lug and you’re ?

I have a couple from Viper Bench Rest of the same basic design.

Works fine, just wrap the barrel with cardboard from an empty roll of paper towels and it grabs better, plus it doesn't scratch the barrel.

Some guys sprinkle base ball rosin on it to add gription.

For those still wondering. I finally set it up a last week and used it a couple times to remove some barrels. Worked like a charm. Had no issues removing a couple barrels that were torqued at 100ft-lbs.
