Vortex razor 11x33x50

Hey looking for advice on a new spotting scope the vortex viper hs 11x33x50 angled anyone have any experience with this?are there better options or better models for the price?

Depends what you want. I have the Razor 11-33x50 and it's fantastic for a small rig that you pack away on hikes or when size/weight are a concern. It won't compete with higher-magnification models for resolving small details at long distance, but those would be horrible to try to do much traveling with.

I have no experience with the viper hs model in comparison to the razor optically, but I've kind of gotten away from buying non-razor vortex optics just due to the mediocre value and sometimes poor quality you see from them. That's more related to rifle scopes than spotting scopes though.

Something light weight and used for the range but also something to see out to 3-600 yards with Bullet holes ? But fought to take out West on hunting trip

Bullet holes in paper at 600 yards? Might be pretty tough to see with any spotting scope I'm guessing. Hits on steel will be much easier. 300 is a different story. By 600 you get mirage and other things that really complicate it, regardless of magnification.

It will be mostly used at the range but eventually I’d like to start hunting out west and looking for something to invest in buy once cry once kinda thing

I'm not exactly sure about that - I'd say that seeing game out to 600 or even 1,000 will be no problem at all. But I'm not big on hunting, so I have limited experience with it.

Long range target spotting is generally more difficult than seeing game. If you're talking about counting points or something like that, anything can get difficult at distance under mirage with any magnification of spotting scope. However, if seeing game at really long distances really was a high priority, I'd probably lean towards something even more expensive. I paid $500 for my Razor used, which is kind of mid-tier at best in terms of the normal options that are discussed.
