Converting 308 AW magazines to AXMC

Does that mean they will have a large magazine that has a spacer inside of it to hold the shorter cartridges?
Yes. There’s a video somewhere from shot show this last year where they’re talking about the new AXSR rifles and how they developed special mags for the short action calibers to fit in the gun instead of the mag insert used by the MC. It’s basically a mag with spacer at the back. I believe he said they did it to save as much weight as possible.

AW mags work just fine in an AX. I've used them in several short action AX's and an AXMC (with the short action mag adaptor of course). No need to convert them or modify them in any way.

I have no doubt of your statement but from what they told me, they are trying to get rid of the adapter used when moving from long action to short action magazines in an AXMC.

The "new" magazines eliminate the need for the adapter.

The guy asked about using his existing AW magazines in an AXMC vs the AX specific short action mags that they're spec'd for... Not about some new magazine that may be coming down the line that doesn't even use the adaptor.

I was wondering about this. My AW mags (all 12 of them) would work fine in the AW rifles but, as I didn't own one, I couldn't comment on performance in the AXMC. Never understood the "hook" any way. But I am sure it had to be someone's solution for something. ;)

From a military perspective where the short action caliber is for training a larger mag makes sense. It removes a part from the system, let’s you use your pouches without adjustment and replicates the feel of the larger caliber.

I emailed mile high on thE ASR magazine. If I remember they said possibly end of year but had no real date as of yet. I’m sure it will take longer. I remember how long it to to get the mag adapter.
